Alex Zahnd gives a FULL walk through the prototype "Modular Pico-Hydro Power Plant" from the river from which the water is taken, to the artificially created pond for a first sedimentation, to the cemented sedimentation tank with overflow, to the 495 m long, 200 mm diameter HDPE pen-stock through the agricultural fields leading down to the turbine house and wash out of the water back into the river. Also a detailed walk through the inside of the turbine house and the 6 Pelton turbines is shown. The "Modular Pico-Hydro Power Plant" was developed and built from 2016 - 2018, starting to produce 24/7 electricity for the Mohari village in the Nepal Himalayan (North Latitude: 29° 20’ 06" / East 82° 22’ 28”, Altitude 3'141 meters (10'305 ft) above sea level), in the north-eastern part of the Jumla district, on the 30th November 2018. On August 13th 2024 the "Modular Pico-Hydro Power Plant" has been running NON-STOP without ANY interruption of producing electricity to the village for 50'000 hours. This, FIRST of its kind "Modular Pico-Hydro Power Plant", can "grow" in its power output over the years, IF the village/users have the need for more power and can afford it, up to 10 turbines in series. If you are interested to see more about the technical details of the "Modular Pico-Hydro Power Plant", please see the three different videos in ENGLISH and NEPALI on the RIDS-Nepal RU-vid channel: • RIDS-Nepal Teaching Vi...
