Most people who claim to not be "this creative" just give up sooner The way to be more creative is to ply about with the parts for a lot longer Ive sometimes played around for a whole week without really any build to show for it, dozens of hours just putting things together then taking them apart Download one of the mod maps, and use that as an always Creative Mode save OR do what i do, use the Island as your CM and play/build properly only on Svartalfheim or another mod map
Omg I feel yeah I get soo distracted with other shit having fun or taming and spend hrs or days and end up with a box with 30 storages a bed and a bunch of metal cooking 🤣🤣😅 for what idk 🤷♂️
Just found a workaround if you're unable to find a tree to build around. You can use the pots that come with Bob's tall tales to transplant bushes or trees and then just remove the inner foundations, place the pots, and fence around.
Working on this layout now. Unforgiving terrain but figured out how to work around it. The beach base with water pen will be added after. Keep up with the builds. I've enjoyed seeing each one.
the amazing thing about this build is that the floor design is different for every location! you get to let the natural ground design the floor of your base!
Dude, this looks so epic! the feature I enjoyed the most, by far, was the tree on the inside, I always try and keep some in my bases and the placement of the base just fit's so perfect with it trully amazing
Did you watch between 2 and 5 mins in the intro? If you pause it you can see pretty much all the interior, its simply placed, no tricks or anything complex
so after trying this build, its apparent that you cant replicate the exact design on official. for a couple reasons. 1: you hit structure cap 2: the greenhouse ceilings cant be placed the way they need to be placed. 3: even if you just try to make it a normal roof by just continuing the roofs upward, they dont snap righ. its best if you just use the foundation and make it a flat top or something around those lines. this is an amazing build tho and i was 100% stoked to build it. just kinda wish i didnt waste 3 days building it just to find out that you hit structure cap xD.
This is why I put "Disable Structure Placement Collision is ON" in the description, on official its turned off meaning objects can't snap into each other. However, structure limit seems odd.... I built a more complex structure on official a few weeks back and didn't hit limit. Are you near another base enough to effect it? Or perhaps with Jeremy Stieglitzs comments about official server latency recently they've changed something to reduce server load?
hey how did u buld your roof glass dt get it i m trying but cant snap those square roof glass looks messie can u show how did u snapped all of them seems tricky on official
i rebuilt it myself and added two rotundas to it...great idea, great build i love it. Do have a guide for the kitchen area ? especially the roof...i try and try and try but i dont get it like you did
If you obey your own rule "try to match the ceilings with the floor" then your glass roof will look a lot better I have made many buildings like this, but none exactly like it, and i especially love how you made the glass roof a sunken thing, i always kept building mine upwards or just flattened, never sunken BTW, i get you wanted to do this mod-free to make it more easy for people to replicate, but i thoroughly recommend just 1 mod to you, and any builders - ASR - ArkitectStructures Remastered, its pretty much the building parts half of what was S+ in ASE, the other half is QoL+ in ASA (if you want both halves) But ASR alone, is just parts, no cheaty things, and it will amaze you, as well as all the normal stuff being made more versatile, it includes 2 Glass Tiers, Wood Glass and Stone Glass (the wood and glass being the frames) which are full tiers, everything except the foundations can be made of glass And if you are one of those purists, "no mdos to keep it people friendly" i will point out just how difficult this build is without GCM activated :p The Materials needed, the lack of flying, the attacks from random passing dinos etc, will turn this build into something that takes days and days to build, i know ive built many like it without creative mode All that being said, i really like your design, despite me making a few very similar, certainly i never did things exactly as you have Great Build! Great Video! Thanks for sharing it 👍
No probs! Yea ASR is amazing, I like that you can easily find their stuff by filtering 'asr' at the top of your inventory. I do try to keep it mod free for the reason you say, but ASR is so good that I will be using it very soon, and I do have a half built structure coming along as we speak. I mean, whats a building channel without a building mod or two?!?
@@BuildersAscended I can see youre no stranger to ASR, and so i probably dont need to say this, but for eveyone else, and because i forgot to in my original comment Its fantastic that you cna stack Foundations, one on tp of the other This has many uses, not least creating a nice level platform on hilly/lumpy ground - with bits that can be hollowed out later for cellars, generators hiders etc But also it makes what i call Proper walls, that dont look like they would snap if a raptor sneezed on them
Well done! Which server? While playing on Scorched I’ve just wild wandered into the Conservatory building on [EU] ARK Bliss ASA SE -built by Tribe of Goliath
Great video do you have any tips on scaling each of the pods for if i want different sizes to join together or even just making the pods bigger to accomodate a behemoth gate?
@DeSeriousSquid Yes, when you start each circle, start from the middle, and keep making rings outward as big as you like. make sure that you place squares outside triangles, and triangles outside squares, for each ring (if that makes sense), then just adapt the walls to a different width by either adding a full wall instead of a quarter wall, or add an extra tall doorway. BUT, make sure the circles, however big, are connected by tringles to each other, and snapped together, so the roof works. Hope this helps
The problem with behemoths is they are ugly and hard to mask without looking like an eyesore, hence I tend to leave big stuff outside, and walled in. If you watch the first half of the intro you might catch the wall design I used, it has kept everything out so far and no tames have been harmed in the making of this video so far lol
Hey , I built this on official not realising that it doesn’t work on official 🙃 I only have the green house roof left , do you have any idea that could replace the roof design in the video? Just want to close my roof
@@hanialhasawi6543 when building the wooden part of the sloped roof, look directly below at the floor foundation. Copy exactly what is below, so a square foundation should have a square sloped roof, a triangular foundation would have a sloped triangular roof etc. this will ONLY work if the roof edge snaps directly onto the wall top, AND you ensure you mirror above exactly what is below foundation-wise
That’s because it’s modular and can be built to any size. Best bet is calculate a single circle, then multiply by how many circles. That should give you a rough idea
@@sethdrost5526 before you do, come take a look at it in action on Builders Ascended Official - Center [BACTR] ~ it’s a Nitrado server with a build focus. Ride the 24 mile train track!
Je l'ai construction mais impossible à terminer en officiel. Tu coupes la fin de ta vidéo mais tout simplement parce que il est impossible de la faire en officiel .....
@benhindbo5207 Each module is 3 tek reps across. If your walls are 5 1/2 tall (like the breeding area in the vid) you can even fit a cloner in there with some space around it
I did consider it but when I first edited I wasn't happy with the result so I started again. After the 2nd edit I'd put too many hours in, and figured between where I showed levelling the floor, and pausing the intro, it/d show easy enough what I did
Also, ppl like different interiors. My preference is big tall open spaces, but many would put a mezzanine floor in. So I leave it open to interpretation
Edit, you have to have the stairs directly over a normal foundation with two triangle foundations on either side, pick up the square and triangle foundations on either side of the stairs then place the railings and place the triangle foundations, then pick up the stairs and place the foundation, then replace the stairs.
I don't, because its modular and every build will be different. But you can estimate by looking at each section (either floor, wall door etc) and adding it up depending on the design you are doing. Or just start with a simple circle or two, and adding more as you harvest more resources
@@BuildersAscended well I'm playing on unofficial so so far it's going good I just don't like how some of the foundations are above the rest of the foundations but I guess I can work around that. I really was trying to encompass a tree into my area but I couldn't get a tree to work right for me so and getting the foundations and the circles right it was an endeavor to the least, but I got it and so far it looks good and people on my server or inquiring as to what I am doing their I said just wait till the finished product
To level the floor you can always use ceilings above the foundations, this will give you a void under some of the floor, I tend to use this space was a safe room for logging off (don’t want kidnapping or being eaten when offline lol). The tree is hard. It’s all about the choice of tree: finding the right size, AND on a flat-ish bit of ground.
@@BuildersAscended well I'm going to use just a rock outcropping instead of a tree so and I'm going to list it as the tallest point on the island even though it's not LOL. But I finally found a bill that's going to work because I went crazy with my character and made my character gargantuan in height. Unfortunately I've been under the weather the last few days so I haven't really been building on it much but tonight when I get off work try and put more to it
It will fit inside, but getting it inside will be a problem without cryos. Brontos are bigs! But tbf they’d take up too much space, so why not leave em outside in a protected paddock?
@@jonwalker8945 That’s a cracking idea! You could even build a house on top and have all huts and cranes sticking out the sides clinging on for life! Thin vertical pillars in black would look like ropes. Then you just need to tame some dimorphs as parrots lol
@@BuildersAscended already had the perfect dimorphs. Spent 4 weeks breeding them just for colors and had to wipe all my saved data bc ARK…. RIP Fruity Pebbles and your kin.
Things? You mean walls foundations etc? It all depends on what you build because it's modular and changes with what plan you choose. If you're unsure, build 1 circle and walls roof etc, count the bits, then save up till you can add another circle and so on. That way you have a sealed base early on and can build it as big as you want later
Because it’s modular it will be different for each choice of; how many circles and joints, what the floor is like, what wall and door panels are chosen. You can go to each section and count them out once you’ve chosen your design, that’s what I’d do
Okay I have the land on official and was just wondering if you had one I am going to try and build this I am a sole tribe but I got this and pointer you have pls lmk thank you it is and amazing build
I'm on NA-PVP5046 at hidden lake. I built the Winter Cathedral, had to ceiling the floor a bit bcause its on a steep slope, but the land is claimed ready for potential streams later on. I did it solo, took me about 24 hours solo, so I reckon the Modula Rotunda would be about the same. But... you could just start with 1 circle, build up, then add more later. Thats the benefit of modular design! Best advice I would give for any of my builds (apart from the pineapple pyramid) is - scaffolding!
