Hello Sir , thank u for the explanation , can you plz answer my question : can animal be taught language , if yes when it started ? Im interested in the second part of the question , “when it started ” is there a specific day !
Yes it is. Mathematically, a function tends to infinity if it is larger than any arbitrary value. If you can make a sentence arbitrarily long, you cannot put a limit to its length, which is to say that its length is not finite, it's infinite.
In animals, the signaler (or caller) does not intend to provide a signal (for example, warning call) to a recipient. Instead, it should be seen a an individual act where the caller directly benefits from the call (for example, to scare away the predator). For an overview, see the work done by Tomasello and others.
I can find Tomasello's home page, but it doesn't list any research on bird calls as far as I can see. Can you be more specific? I'm really interested to find out how this was shown. (E.g. do birds issue the same alarm calls when they are alone and know it?)
Not sure if he did any research on birds, but you could check is book 'Origins of human communication' for an overview of his work. In this book he mainly refers to his research on primates.
Bees communicate through dancing so King Solomon would have had to have been shaking his money maker in the direction of some sweet bee foods or no bees would be interested in a convo. Lolz. Religion.
