The envelope as drawn in your video actually represents the envelope for an AM waveform with TRANSMITTED carrier. Simple multiplication of the modulating signal with a carrier produces a double sideband SUPPRESSED carrier signal, whose envelope looks somewhat different than what's shown.
great videos, one topic I am confused on is bandwidth, it seems like there are a variety of different definitions, like when we look at the bandwidth of an oscilloscope or SA, vs bandwidth of a filter vs bandwidth defined by data transfer rate, could you give an explanation on bandwidth so that I can better understand it?
What do you mean by saying multiplication (in time domain)? Can you please point me to another video with explanation in more detail of this that you might have or know? It seems like I'm close to understanding this but only one inch away. Thanks.
