See, bats are smart! ** Don't touch bats if you're not rabies vaccinated, and give them to a professional if you can find one~ ** ☕ Buy me a coffee? ➜ www.buymeacoff... 🎵 : amachamusic.chagasi.com #bats #animallover #cuteanimals
I keep getting comments from others who have found baby bats, so I figured I'd sticky a reply: If you find a baby bat: * Try to give it back: If you put it close to the roost, as close and as high up as you can, mum might pick it up. This only works when the baby is still actively looking & calling for mum - otherwise the mother won't find it. If the baby is climbing around, and/or still has milk in its belly (it shines through as a white area), the chances are good. After 72 hours of separation, however, the mother stops giving milk. * If that fails, look for bat people to take care of the little one. Raising bats is difficult and time consuming and I only did it because I couldn't find anyone to take them. (Well now I love them so much I'd gladly do it again, but, you know.) They need food every 2-3 hours around the clock. * If you can't find anyone to take the baby - well, there's lots to learn, which I can't explain here. A great resource is bat world sanctuary - they have relevant book chapters online. * Don't give cow milk. They can't stomach that. To make things more difficult, different species need different milk. For pipistrelles like mine, goat milk will do in a pinch. See the book, and the first video in this playlist has the recipe I used for the pipistrelles. Good luck
Does Moebius have a rash on his head, or is it just from rubbing up against his big bro? Hope he grows some hair soon, they are both so sweet together!
Thank you SO much for sharing your amazing and wonderful adventure with us!!! I have loved every minute of it!!! They truly are adorable little darlings. And I've learned so much from your videos. ~ By the way, did you ever have to get shots after taking them in? Also, were you ever able to find out what kind of bats they are? Are they micro bats? I have no idea how in the world you managed to film them so well while doing everything with them. But BOY am I glad you did!!! They are so tiny and such precious little expressions and activities! I have watched all the videos so many times.
I love watching these two, they are just so cute. Moebius really fills himself up on his milk, and congrats on him learning to drink from the cap. Both of them have a sound series that RU-vid translates as “thank you, and it comes at appropriate moments…I love it.🖤🇨🇦
I just discovered these videos recently and now I'm super invested lol. They're so cute and I've always thought bats are cute and wanted to raise one. Is there any news on these two cuties?
@AyaTeien @nootbootsma4925 They are free bats now, flying around somewhere in the fields of Yunlin :) But, I'm still sitting on TONS of video footage of them, and will get back to editing that.
How's school going? I know you're behind on the videos, but you found the bats back in July. Any updates? They should have grown up, been released, and probably had some bat babies of their own by now.
The batties were released in October, and yeah, I like to imagine they're dads by now :D I fell even more behind on the videos due to circumstances, but I'm getting back to them now ^^ And me, I graduated, but haven't quite recovered from graduation yet XD
