Good statement. The way his book is written is not in an elegant manner that an "older editor" would absolutely be familiar with. It's written like the writer has a lesser knowledge of good comme tary, explaining things and making sure that every point is covered. Also, statements and life stories were open ended, and not well covered. I have a gut feeling that Meghan was the actual "writer". I could be wrong, but would like to know WHO did write it. M and H have lied about so many things we can't believe much of what they say now.

I really don't believe that 3/4's of what Harry said happened, actually ever happened. In every revelation, he always has to make himself appear as the hero. Even if true, the allegation made about Diana was said in a controlled, top secret environment. How could anybody even repeat such a comment in the public sphere? As you said, poor William, poor Dodi's family. How fake is his respect for his Mother? Harrys' repugnance knows no bounds. What a little man he is. He was tougher because the guy before 'cracked". He saves Meghan, saves his family, protects his mothers' honor. It's all balderdashit. He was more interested in making himself look good. The timescale, as you were able to deduct clearly supported Tom Bowers' accusations that the money making schemes were already well underway before they even left the UK. I feel nothing but revulsion for them both, and have absolutely no empathy whatsoever with the Ghost Writer - he is just as bad for taking on the job in the first place. Great work, I cannot wait for the next instalment.

What I learned: 1) Moehringer wanted to make more money out of the collaboration. 2) Contract between Sparry & Moehringer had this... loophole? That the ghostwriter could reveal his point of view and experiences working with the client. So there's a lack of control there, and Moehringer's free to color the client any way he wants. I wonder if MM will seal that up in her contract?! 3) That Moehringer needs to rehabilitate his reputation. Although many non-professional reviews state "great writing," frankly the numerous excerpts I heard or read struck me like a soap opera script! 4) Moehringer needs to further address the factual inaccuracies in "Spare". (Recall Moehringer's statement about "Spare" being what Sparry's memories of his experiences and doesn't have to be what actually happened.) 5) That Moehringer kinda screwed Sparry: fine to include Sparry wetting himself immediately before first date with MM and the whole todger business, but not Sparry's retort in fake military training interrogation. 6) Moehringer feels power getting clients to reveal things rather than it's a dicey situation for the client. 6) That Sparry is an imperious bully, always looking for a fight and MUST dominate. No qualms smacking his security detail, verbally abusing people... NO boundaries of humility and humanity. A. Jerk. (I'm questioning the editor in all of this. Weird power-plays going on, here. But what do I know bout celebrity writing collaborations.)

@@suupkalvers2244 I suppose because this is typing and not audible conversation, it is easy for you to misinterpret my position and point. I find the Sussexes to have a micro-managing-type style to their business dealings (understandable, usual & customary for celebrities) and am surprised that the loophole of Moehringer having the ability to describe his experience with Sparry as well as make money off it (beating the Sussexes at their own game) to have been allowed. Meaning, the Sussexes (or their business mgr/atty) didn't catch that. Be it that Penguin Random House is profiting, Moehringer is profiting... Sparry was "laid bare," and it's not a pretty picture. Moehringer further cemented Sparry's reputation and offered facts of how Sparry treats people. As for "shooting the messenger," if Moehringer was UNDER OBLIGATION to PRH to reveal what the process was like, Moehringer could have negotiated "no way" and kept a reputation of never spilling the beans on his clients. Not revealing this kind of stuff, is very... VERY (!!!) important to Sparry. (Note the few court cases at this time.) This is not the book "of" Sparry as you wrote, it's the book BY Sparry (per his insistent dialog in one of his release interviews). Correct: I am free to dislike the style, inaccuracies, overall "woe-is-me" tone and conclude that "the man he has become" (per his promotion), is not a man, in so many ways.

I think as the book was originally twice the edited length, a lot of the issues the ghostwriter had with Harry were persuading him what to leave out. If H does publish a part 2 I think we will be getting more of the crazy, that was wisely left out of the first book. What stood out for me is that after one of their heated conversations, with Moehringer becoming more and more frustrated, it ended with Harry telling him that he enjoyed getting him worked up. Immediately my mind went to the fight with William as described by Harry. William was trying to tell Harry about staff complaints about Meghan. Harry told him he was listening to media accounts which would have been false since William would have had first hand knowledge and the accusations in the media didn't occur until after Meghan and Harry had left for Canada. Adding insult to injury, Harry offers William a glass of water as if he is angry over nothing and needs to calm down. And then William, frustrated, snaps and grabs him by the collar and gives him a shove. Was Harry, on some level, enjoying this as he did with Moehringer?

However it was put out there apparently by Dodi's father as well as the " they were going to get engaged" and the theory of assassination. Would there have really been such an implication on the royal family with a future king having a half sibling, Muslim or not? I know it was back in the mid nineties, times might have been different. But the child( if there would have been), would have had nothing to do with the monarchy.. Also that he just left it hanging, no further comments and explanations, makes me wonder if he really got in contact with Fayed sen., as I once read, and just threw it out there. Imo, M had her fingers in the book, some of it is definitely her writing style( from what I heard so far) and the fact, that Mohringer stated M was visiting him daily with Archie and brought him home baked sweets and that she was so nice compared to Harry's abrupt and disruptive description, this is her MO, she comes out good. Why the hell did he put that in a book , she wasn’t pregnant and that was made public at the time. I don’t believe Harry went through any of this, from what I’ve heard he was so protected other service personnel were fed up about it.

Yes, I had no idea the book was started so early, that really shocked me. As far as the ghostwriter goes (here in France they're called "nègre", the equivalent of the n-word in English, incredible but true), he sounded like he has a slight narcissism problem himself. And, yes, it sure does seem as though there were too many cooks in the kitchen on Spare (me), and the whole thing almost seems like a setup for future reference during, say, a divorce negotiation?... I can't help it, but I feel kind of sorry for Harold, I mean, you have to be so utterly stupid to end up as he has. God only knows what's down the road for him and those children.

@@thevintageread Just want to add about my comment "nègre" being incredible but true: I meant that no one bats an eye about it, no one's going around screaming "racist". France is always a bit slow picking up trends here, so it probably will happen eventually. Being American originally and growing up in the 60's, I do always flinch instinctively when I hear it, though 🤣
@jaygatsby2790
@jaygatsby2790 Год назад
@@dottieparker7274 Maybe it's because the word "nègre" isn't racist to begin with. We call black people "Negro" and it doesn't mean the racial slur "nigger". It's just a descriptive word to denote their skin color. We also have a word for white people and for brown people (like us) and both are just descriptions of skin color--no slur intended. And I hope that "trend" never gets picked up in France because like the UK, it has never been racist like the US. When American jazz musicians were suffering under Jim Crow, a lot of them fled to France (and Europe in general) because the people there appreciated their talents and treated them as equals--their skin color didn't matter and they didn't have segregation or miscegenation laws like in the United States. It isn't that France is slow to catch up to "trends", it's that they were never racists like Americans to begin with that's why they they have no hang-ups about using words like "nègre". Triggered by that BLM bullshit, America has already exported a lot of their poisonous, racially divisive ideology in the UK and in other Western countries. No need to spread that disgusting, malicious thinking any further. Let that garbage thinking die in America.
@dottieparker7274
@dottieparker7274 Год назад
@@jaygatsby2790 Agreed, extremely well put! I only point this out, though, because when they translate the N word in French, they use "nègre". There's no perjorative "nickname". There is one for Americans, though 🤣

I believe she (Harry's wife) convinced him to tell these stories - re: his drug taking, his 'stallion' sex-capades, his time in the army, etc. *She convinced him that these stories would put him in the category of a 'stud' and 'cool' guy - and he is so dumb he went along with it *he has the maturity of a stunted 13 year-old and she now has all of this behavior to use against him when she decides to divorce him. *It's also difficult to feel sorry for him. He allowed her to manipulate him - refused to hear what his family/friends tried to tell him about her. I suspect it won't be long before she dumps him - realizing that she too has been exposed as the person she really is.

Thank you for going to the trouble of sharing it with us. Sounds as if Moehringer and Harry are too much alike to get along! 😁😆 I'm unsure of legalities in publishing but if Harry tries to pull out of the contract for more books, would Penguin Random House be able to write an 'unauthorised' book? They don't seem to possess too many scruples, so if there's no legal objection, I'm sure we'll get even more of this nauseating pulp. Have a great evening, tho' still afternoon here in the West.

I am fairly sure Harry never planed to return to Britain. They planed their exit from the beginning, Harry was even talking about „his freedom flight“ when leaving the UK. But he also expected to be much more successful in the USA…. Part of the exit strategy was making as much cash as possible to finance their lavish lifestyle after being „cut off“. Publishing the book and was of course the most promising while their exit was still fresh and people interested. It was a business strategy and a clever one at that.

He stands little to no chance of having any power in a divorce/child custody suit. Which means any children become absolute leverage in bleeding his completely dry in a divorce. No action has been taken without advance consideration of the ultimate goal. Food for thought.

He talks about his own memoir “The Tender Bar”, (Prime Video original movie 2021 Director George Clooney) and how Andre Agassi asked “why I’d organized my own memoir around other people rather than myself.” Basically JRM states it finds it more interesting than navel gazing. He also asked how do you write about other people without invading their privacy? JRM replies that he mostly got permission, in some cases he couldn’t because some people were dead, others no longer talking to, and sometimes basically to tell the truth you cannot avoid hurting people. Full confession, I have not read “Spare”.

It’s almost inconceivable what detail Harry’s blurted b/c he trusted them. There must’ve been lengthy discussions prior to the signed agreement, you have to ask yourself when did those take place, when they were working royals ? Mohringer said MM was lovely & nice, I’m sure she was the perfect host when he bunkered at their home. Given Harry’s fragility it all sounds incredibly reckless & frankly sad.
