I have been a dancer like that since 5 yrs old and now the way modern dance is reminds of ballet with on ur toes. We were always told to keep ur top still and knees bend a little
Well Tahiti Ora is a modern group, but up on toes Teki/Tei, is a basic step in Ori Tahiti, developed so that a dancer could move faster across the stage etc. You still have to either Tairi Tamau, or Fa'arapu. Knees bent and body isolation is still at the core of the dance, besides being a core dance, so dunno what you're talking about.
I am not sure exactly what you are saying but I learned heels down flat when doing farapu. There are lots of different dance moves that she is doing that requires heels off the ground, some walk on their toes while they ami, I have seen some stay flat. It is probably variations or preferences. I learned in the 90’s so I am sure the styles changed since then 😂
You think it's boring because you don't know how much work and strength it requires to move one's body like this. And it's not just one part of the body. Ignorance and arrogance is bliss! It's culture, not pure entertainment.
Maybe boring for you but it's really hard to dancing like that even for us tahitians...but it's a part of our culture that we are so proud!! Maybe you should make a demonstration of your dancing skills to show us how to not be "boring" when dancing........I really want to watch it😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
