Thank you for a very good video. I am building this pre after inspiration from Michael Beany's site where he is glowing in admiration of this. He points out that varying R1 can give you various output changes and he discusses these in some detail.To do his praise justice I upgraded some parts. I do not trust Chinese parts and have bought know caps and 1% resistors and opamp. I tested all the transistors to verify that they were in spec. So far so good.

@decem_unosquattro9538 some do, you can buy or build tone boards with or without volume control. These days a lot of people myself included use music players as source and volume is built in. I don't like tone controls myself I like everything flat.
