The European Union's incoming foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini has told Members of the European Parliament in Brussels that relations with Russia should be "deeply reassessed" in the light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The Italian politician's appointment was opposed by many who accused her of being too cozy with the Kremlin, but during her confirmation hearing Mogherini was at pains to stress an uncompromising stance on relations with Russia.
