Today we speak with skater Mogley about why he really left braille, riding a bike from Mexico to San Franciso and much more! Mogley's channel: / @mogely IG: @lamontholt @junglebook @juliancummings #skateboarding #mogley #podcast
What a likeable dude. Hope he and Nigel go on to find a foothold beyond Braille. Also, appreciate you Lamont. For somebody who is taking on the role of an entertainer you are surprisingly humble. Like, I know you're a sick skater who has been around, but you never talk about yrself or steal focus at all and you could. Yr vid on frontside shuvs is the one that made them finally click for me
I really enjoyed Mogely's time with Braille but am anxious to see him grow outside of Braille. It's always a pleasure to watch him skate or to hear his perspective on skateboarding.
Dude im so stoked Mogeley got on here! You da man Lamont. Now get Nigel back on so we can cover more of this Carlos drama. Shit has snowballed since you released that first episode!
I be at work watching yo podcast gang!! Keep goin g! Love hearing skaters talk abt they come up too since we alr seen them when they popular it’s interesting knowing where they came from vs where they ended up
Omg i thought i was the only one that knew the “gotchas” shoes😭😭. I tried to explain that to my friends in college and no one knew what they were. The struggle was real growing up. I had a similar upbringing like Mogley. Its crazy how close our lives are, i started skating because of tony hawk’s underground. After too many injuries i had to give up and focus on school. But i had so many clips on my brothers phone but we weren’t able to save them and post them. But i remember the feeling of oling 12 steps on my rival high school’s steps. My board is still in my closet 😢 collecting dust.
That gotchyas story was hilarious 😂 really liked this one! Mogleys the man! Also Lamont, you filmed me nollie double flip that 4 block about a year before I went there with Mogley to switch fs big flip it
I remember playing skate with Rick G in Lathrop. Dude was a super chill and humble guy! He was surprised that I was able to do all kinds of skatepark sports and he befriended all the locals in like 30 min.
Love mogley, one of the realist guys, no pretence, no filter , just good vibes all round and congrats for going back to collage, 6 more classes and your done. The man is bettering himself for his family and really Braille was not sustainable as a job in the grown up world nore was he going to grow as a skater there. He left because he made some real life choices. Props
The soundtrack in Underground 1 holds up well too. For me its formative because its the first Tony Hawk game I played as an adult in my own home. I had no idea I was about to join a band that year.
That jerry hsu part is right it’s literally only had 15 clips and they’re are switch nollie only but it just shows the the suffering and battle of sesh I’m a artistic way and that’s what makes the part sicker in my opinion! Is it the most gnarly insane part in the video, not really, but is it still rememberable.. hell yeah!! Iconic
I just saw the video where mogely and his friends would sleep at the park so they could wake up early and skate all day. And slept on the roof of the rec centre. Die hard forsure.
bruh mog seems more happy since leaving braille fr n im not sure but i could of sworn i seen julian before as a editor for jk i might be tripping tho great video bless up
Mogley is a Goat. He needs to be on the Primitive Team. he has been skating for so long and has some unique tricks up his sleeve. Prod if you read this, give him a chance bro you wont regret it.
.... Hearing his folks didn't buy boards really hit me in my soul. I got like 3 completes from family members over my first twenty years too. Worked out tho. Thanks to the ski market. Respect to Mowgli.
Hell yeah i feel that with the single mom situation. My mom raised both me and my sister and i always told her the same thing, she was both parents. I would do anything for her bc of how hard she worked to take care of us
Also, shout out airwalks... till this day Andy Mac is one of my all time favorites just for his shoes alone...im was never a vert skater but still, that mans shoes were the sole reason i was able to skate as long as i did my entire childhood... and now as adult with job and money i can now buy good shoes but to old and tired to skate lol still do just not as crazy anymore...
Not gonna lie, as a resident of Oxnard (just southwest of Bakersfield) its like we took all the bad parts of Oxnard and through it over there and called it Bakersfield lol
I played Spankey in skate when I was 15. He liked my backfoot hardflips and pop suv late flips. He still beat me tho lol. That was when him and Josh Harmony were getting put on at RVCA
