I feel no pain when I listen to this. Sometimes I cry when I listen to this. I don't see any un-wanted images, no abuse, and no past mistakes can be found when I listen to this. I'm free. I'm fucking free.
Respect and my condoleances. He choosed the most beautifull and intense song their is. Dont wanna go but if I when I do this song is the last which will be played and rememberd. I've known this from the first time i've listenend to it. Take care!
I remember how fucking LOUD they played this song and "my father my king" back in the days. So loud that some people left because it hurts the ears. 😅 Just LOVED it.
I saw them play this song live in Nashville back in 2014, it was beautiful. It was my first time I heard that song actually and what better way to hear it. Cheers everybody.
First time i heard these guys was "Like Herod" in the campground at Phish's millennial shows at the Big Cypress Seminole Reservation in Florida. A friend put it on really loud and lulled this whole area..and well, eventually Like Herod kicked in the way it does and you saw so much acid turn on people at the same time. It was lovely.
This song is just like an hymn. As a football fan It sounds like a football anthem, but also can be a scottish landscapes experimentation. This makes think of some kind of rise and fall of Life , beginning slow to and extreme vitality at teenage and progresively turns back into slowness till the end and death... This song is the reflection of Life. Congratulations mates !
It touches every nerve in my body. The soft as well as the aggressive ones. My body shivers to this song and I must listen to the whole track once I´ve put it on. like a tix ;)
My first fav post rock band is Explosions In The Sky, but when i hear Mogwai...it is obvious that this band has more rich experimental sound. And when they came to Bangkok last year, it's like eargasm for me :)
You really should.. and bring earplugs, so you can hear later on. =o) Don't do what I did, 5 ft from the stage w/o ear protection. Everything was a muffled mess for 2 days.
Yap. In 2010 the band released their first live film "Burning" and live album "Special Moves". "Burning" contains eight tracks from the band's Brooklyn shows during their 2008/2009 American tour, whilst "Special Moves" adds nine more tracks from the same source. :)
That song is called "Batcat", only someone changed title with sentence from the song "Yes! I Am a Long Way from Home" from the first Mogwai album, probably because the "Batcat" in that video begins with loop from that song. :)
Wow, that's crazy, me too..... My sincere condolences stranger. The first time I heard this song was a religious experience for me, brought me closer to God than I had ever been before, showed me exactly what kind of music I wanted to make myself. Again, my sympathies....
@coryleblanc sounds like the organ harmony for scotland's shame, and then it goes into 'Music for a Forgotten Future' from the 'Hardcore will never die' album
Oh it was gorgeousness and gorgeosity made flesh. The trombones crunched redgold under my bed, and behind my gulliver the trumpets three-wise silverflamed, and there by the door the timps rolling through my guts and out again crunched like candy thunder. Oh, it was wonder of wonders. And then, a bird of like rarest spun heavenmetal, or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now, came the violin solo above all the other strings, and those strings were like a cage of silk round my bed. Then flute and oboe bored, like worms of like platinum, into the thick thick toffee gold and silver. I was in bliss my brothers.
This is sooo good .. this was the highlights of their gig i saw last week ! This gig was not so good actually .. Almost everything from the last album, which really isn't great. I had seen them couples years ago and was completely blown away ! This time, bit disappointed, but still were some huge moments with Hunted by a Freak, Christmas Steps, Batcat and of course THIS !
It sounds a little like Scottland's Shame. But then shortly after, there's some notes from Music from a Forgotten Future - which if you've never heard, you certainly should do that now.
