What an innings by Azhar. Terrific timing, unique and ultimate style. Can't forget this kind of all time classic inning even after so many years. Mesmerizing to say the least.
Mohd Azharuddin will be my favorite cricketer of the Indian team ever ... A player who knew no arrogance ... Very down to earth ... very simple(lacking in today's cricketers) ... Azhar Sir, You are a legend ... Miss You and those good old days of the 90s
Haters say azhar couldnot play on overseas fast paced bounce and swing . But this was one of the magnificient overseas hundereds among so many others. When u see overseas performances of azhar some of them are gems : 122 lords, 179oval, 192 auckland, 109 Faislabad ( pakistan) , 103 wellington, 106 adelaide......except the pakistan100 all are available on u tube. Azhar had virtually no weakness except one : He had a tendency to lose concentration at times. If he had the concentration powers of gavaskar or dravid he eould have scored atleast 1000 runs more than what he did in tests.
Even garry kirstern has also mentioned he has never seen these kind of innings frm any indian batsman but still their r many indians who will not agree and they will blindly follow only sachin sir dravid sir and hook shot master ganguly sir
@@bhaskarpuvvala5849 and neither you are cricketing pandits and for your kind information garry Kirsten was most successful test opener for South Africa
@@bhaskarpuvvala5849 bcoz of Garry Kristen India became world champion...if he I'd nt a gud player thn by our bcci appointed him as coach nd we won 2011 world cup .I think u r the biggest idiot of the century.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can we ever see an innings of this calibre under pressure. Azharuddin was the best. Mumbai cricketers somehow don't like his fame, always under scrutiny irrespective of his performance. Match fixing is a huge controversy where he was plotted. Ban should have renoved much earlier.Hope he returns to coaching replacing ravi shastri...
Mr venkataramana, only hindus from Hyderabad liked azhar. Otherwise in general, Hindus don't like famous Muslim players. Azhar bore the brunt of being the greatest Muslim batsman and legend that India has ever produced.
Always a great fan of azhars batting. I feel.. He was a little carefree batter. He was somebody who could easily get 10000runs in test cricket.. If he had applied a little more seriously..
Look at the difference of commentary before and after 7.50. The TV audience gets there heart throbbing when words do justice for an innings Azhars luck was that Gavaskar on mic most of the times. Ravi shastri would been more impact full which he ws fr many stars of Indian cricket. Ass burnt ppl can't take any1 better than themselves. Azhar Sachin yuvraj ganguly dravid they all burnt his ass. But good fr my India...these players made impact on our hearts n minds. Miss You Helicoptor shot inventor....Real one !!!!
Extraordinary knock and great counter attack by Azhar. He has displayed his Skills while cut shots, back foot placements and also his Fearless attack by pulling Allan Donald bouncer without second thoughts!
Marvelous innings By Azhar Baai Looks like it is T 20 Match, Who said Azhar Not played T 20? He played many Test innings Like a T 20 !!! Is it True r not? Even Sachin not played like this in the Test match Many odi Matches & Many Test Matches he out in above 90+ because he never wait for the century Always he played for The Team, At the end he got Bad name But sachin after 90+ he make more defence & Taking more balls to make century, He got good name Cricket God!!! Who is real hero? Please Think u r shelf Whoever Reading This Thanks & Regards H.Shafeer Ali Labbaikudikadu village Tamil Nadu India
Well said... Sachin is no comparison to Azhar or Lara...who put Team ahead of their personal run records. And it's so unfortunate that these 2 guys had some acute personal drawbacks turning on to odd-faced match-fixing for Azhar or other money related issues including Team Sponsor for Lara.
Hitting 7 boundaries to someone called White Lightening" on South African pitch is no mean feat, most shots infront of wicket . That was a caning session for South Africa by Azhar and Tendulkar.
Good innings. But never understood Azhar's game. Did well on fast and seaming tracks of England, SA and NZ. But struggled against pace and bounce of Aus and WI. Normally you expect somebody who does well in UK and SA to also do similarly in other parts of the world which have fast pitches. Maybe the bit of extra bounce in Aus and WI troubled him. But pitches in UK, SA and NZ also have fair bit of bounce !!. That's Azharuddin for me. Strange !!
Anwar Hussain , Azhars only weakness was sudden lapse of concentration. Also he took too many risks hence got run out many times when absolutely well set. I remember westindies toured India in 1987 and Patrick Patterson was very destructive. Azhar had no problem facing him and other pacers but kept getting out on easy balls . His scores 34 60 39 47 showed than his major problem was sudden lapse of concentration similar to another stylist - David Gower. His 192 ahainst hadlee morrission at their best in aukland, 141 110 and 109 against likes of akram imran waqar , 103 aganst newzealand wellington in swinging conditions when no one else could make runs , 106 against australia adelaide are among some of his many spendid scores against fast bowling. He rarely got out on zero. Only 5 zeroes in 99 tests.. His out rate in 15 s 20s 30s is high. Its just incidental he didnt get a hundered against westindies.( highest score 97) Lets not forget he didnot retire naturally , in fact his exit was soon after a masterly hundered against southafrica. He was the fittest in the team , and with 2 more years easily with him , he would surely have scored a century aganst the westindies too!!. Azhar lost concentration at times and when unchallenged he could get bored and got out to an easy delivery. He could play Ambrose and Walsh with ease and suddenly would get out to a viv richards offspin. His ability against spin and swing were second to none as seen in srilanka against murlitharan on crumbling wicket. Also, he could play yorker the best . He was an enigma who fell short of being an all time great due to his unnatural exit from cricket.
I agree to differ Sir. The only person who ws uncomfortable playing short balls and bounce of Aus in that squad was sourav ganguly and in current squad pujara. See Azhars innings of Benson & Hedges series that will give yu slight idea.
