I remember having watched this when I was 7 or 8 year old. Was in complete awe of Dilip Kumar Saab. Loved the roles of legendary Ashok Kumar, Pran Saab, Amrish Puri & Prem Chopra too.

When you see Dilip kumar, an institution of acting, you cant imagine anyone ever on indian film screen to be his senior in terms of stardom and aura. But here it is, we see him with his ex boss and much senior actor Ashok kumar, under whose supervision dilip sahab started his career. Those were the days in early 1930s when Ashok kumar was associated with Bombay talkies and soon became one of the leading actors of the production house. With sudden demise of himanshu rai, one of the partners of Bombay talkies, Ashok kumar, took it on himself to take this production company ahead. During 1940s, bombay talkies gave break to some new faces and Dilip Kumar was one of them. Imagine the first meeting between Dilip kumar and ashok kumar who was head honcho and the superstar of this era. How nervous Dilip kumar must be and how unsure Ashok kumar must have been of his talent. Fastforward to 1984, in this movie, Both of them are still working as character actors and are way above any stardom. We are seeing two ex superstars from different eras in single frame which is surreal for any indian movie buff.

After Shakti, this one is the best of Dilip Kumar in his second innings. A gripping movie and RD's music is also sensational.

I am surprised to see that in 1980 era when Amitabh Bachchan was rulling bollywood but there were few good movies appeared of Dilipsaab with Kranti / Vidhaata / Duniya / Majdoor / Mashaal and blockbuster Karma at the age of 75 years.
