Mutual funds are not always actively managed (SWTSX, VTSAX, FKSAX,etc.) and ETFs are not always passively managed (ARKK, FMAG, AVUV, etc.). The difference is based on how they are traded. Mutual funds are traded once a day after the market closes and ETFs are traded like a stock.

Pabrai is one of my favorite investors and this year I went on his presentation in Omaha where he introduced us to his wagon-investing-idea. However, I wondered that he started a fund that works with such a big team (him + 8 people according to the webpage). He usually used to say that he doesn't work with other people. Why this change?

His team consist of three highly educated guys including him. Everything is in his grip. Other people you mentioned are his employees and doesn’t take decisions in his stock choice.

The coca cola bottler and brewer business seems attractive. The TAV airports i am not so sure, there seems to be some reliance ~10% of russian traffic and poor outlook for the europeans economies, and the business still requires capex though resilient to the socio economic problems of the region, not too difficult for an idiot to run with its asset moat, its quite messy to understand. Although undervalued, I would prefer other similarly cheap valued companies that are more straightforward. Though this uncertainty could in fact undervalue the business more than we expect.

I'm surprised with the Amazon pick. He was asked about Amazon during an interview once and he totally dismissed it. I own AMR. It's worth 1,000 a share. The expense ratio on this fund is highway robbery! Buy an index fund.

It really doesn't make a lot of sense for Pabrai to open a fund like this. It is forcing his hand to find investments and reducing his ability to be patient.

Expense ratio of 1.49% and 30% in coal. From the same guy who was pumping MU for a while even though what they sell is borderline a commodity. What the hell. Stick a red nose on that clown stock.
