If you watched my video a few weeks ago about my skin cancer returning: • Skin Cancer Returning ...
and then recent video, my Mohs surgery to remove the skin cancer: • Skin Cancer Mohs Surge...
…this video today is my post-surgery update. As well I wanted to share more about the actual surgery, as the original “Surgery Day” video I had only briefly talked about it. While the surgery procedure was all still fresh in my mind, I wanted to share my whole experience of it, from the beginning surgery procedure to them patching me up with the stitches at the end. And then explain how my recovery from Mohs surgery has been going. If you or someone you know is going to have Mohs surgery for the first time, I really hope that this video will help give you an idea of what to expect. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have about getting the Mohs surgery done in the description box below, and I will do my best to answer any questions.
(I understand this content is not for everyone :) not many people like to hear about surgeries! But, I do have another side to my channel and I do hope you will come back and visit!)

It seems like all of us are coming here for the same reason. Had my surgery a few days ago. Only had to cut once - on the tip of my nose. Healing well. Little pain. To everyone who came here because of Mohs, be well!

My basal cell carcinoma is on the tip of my nose. My surgery will be in a month and they have coordinated a plastic surgeon immediately after but at a different office. I am nervous. You just don’t know how many layers they will need to take and what the repair will look like. I am glad you are doing well.

Thank you for your video. I had basal cell carcinoma on the right side of my nose. I had Mohs surgery last Monday. The surgeon had to cut twice until I was cancer free. My surgery required a flap to cover the hole. I ended up with a bruised eye and swelling. It is getting better day by day from using ice packs. I am going to start getting yearly dermatology exams and continue to use sunscreen and wear hats. Good luck to you!

I remember my whole face got rather puffy. Just no fun over all 😟 I hope this video was some what encouraging, to know that in time it will heal, just have wait. Thanks for watching, and have a blessed day.

Great to see that you’re recovering well. Thank you for sharing too! I’ll be back in Mohs surgery after 7 years for jaw line. Was actually looking for experienced video with stage 4 skin cancer (on my thigh). Lots of anxiety about post-op. Best wishes! ❤

Hi Lisa! Hope every thing goes well with your surgery 💜 I don't know about stage 4 cancer - hoping there are others out there that can help or share their experience(s). I shared my experience for this very reason - to encourage people who are dealing with the same thing and are anxious. I do trust this video was helpful!! Best wishes to you also 😊 Have a blessed day!

I have squamous cell carcinoma have my surgery tomorrow. The growth is on my face left cheek and quite large.your video has helped me understand the process so I'm feeling less anxious about the surgery tomorrow thank you for helping me understand this better. Hope you continue to heal well 😍

Alison, I do hope that your surgery goes well tomorrow! I definitely know how anxious you are, since I have been there before. May the doctor remove everything harmful and give you stitches that will heal nicely. It is certainly hard post surgery, and waiting for things to heal, hang in there! It will heal in time. I’m glad you found this video helpful. I appreciate you watching 💜

I was a little scared 😟 it helped that I had already gone through it before, But, it’s never an easy thing having to go through any sort of surgery 👎🏻

I just had this done August '22. Had to go thru 2 procedures to get all the bc cancer. Then to the plastic surgeon. Pencil eraser size to quarter size hole next to my left eye. He could not close that day due to the size. Go back to full blown surgery the next day. Had to have the flap done. I will not go without sunscreen again. Moderma was highly recommended for my question mark scar.

I know what you mean - I am all about the sunscreen now more than ever!! I ask my dermatologist about Moderma and he said it did not really do much - I wish I would have still used it though you never know! Sorry that you had such a deep cut and that was so close to your eye! Hope that heeling has been going well Cindy!! 💜 Best wishes!!

Thanks for sharing I’m getting this done Thursday on my back.

Best wishes to you, Bethany, as you get your procedure done and recover! On the back, doesn’t seem as bad as right on the nose, but anywhere where one has to remove cancer is definitely difficult. 😔 Hopefully they get it all removed and everything goes smoothly. I trust this video was helpful. I appreciate you watching. 💜

@@walkswithholly4610 thank you! I couldn’t imagine having it done on my face. I have to say your last update your scar looks amazing!! I know we’re all critical on ourselves, because we look at ourselves every day in the mirror. Again, thanks for sharing your journey.

Had Mohs surgery 7 years ago on my back across shoulder blade. Took 44 stitches, I’ll never forget. Doctor chose stretching skin rather than skin grafting. Long recovery and big scar but I’m sure people have had it worse, so counting my blessings. Hope you’re doing well post-op!
@bethanyirwin9025

@@lisaweberm.ed.4969 Mine is also on my shoulder blade it’s vertical. She had to go in 3 times to remove all the cells. Roughly 22 stitches I’m not sure how many internally today is day six as you know it’s in an awkward spot so you can’t move band, lift, your arms, etc.. it’s definitely a gnarly looking scar, but like you said, I’d rather be on my back you definitely had a lot of stitches. Thanks for replying.

I’m not really familiar with what a skin flap graft is, so I guess I didn’t have that.

Can I just ask why you opted for Mohs surgery instead of image-guided Superficial Radiation Treatment?
@walkswithholly4610
@walkswithholly4610 Год назад
To be honest I was never told about superficial radiation treatment. If I am diagnosed again with skin cancer, I will maybe look into it.
