Dude your uploads are getting better every time I love the new content you have been doing recently keep up mate 2024 is going to be a big one for your channel
I respect him for the ROTJ take tbh. I know the general opinion is that it’s the weakest, but to this day I’ve just never truly understood why. For me personally it’s ALWAYS been my favorite of the trilogy and my all time favorite SW film. I’m a sucker for conclusions and the final hour of ROTJ is literally perfect Star Wars. Especially everything on the Death Star with Luke, Vader and Palpatine
It's certainly the popular thing to say. Though I do think a lot of that has to do more with cult of personality logic that generated from the internet community. Sometimes stuff like this just re-wires your brain when you know deep down there are perfectly good reasons to disagree. That so called "hot take" mentioned earlier in the video is really not that hot of a take.
@@llamus8432 That's really getting old man. Has it occurred to you that it's an alien world and not all the materials in the galaxy have the same compounds? and they have field advantage to boot.

A guy that taught me martial arts (we used lightsabers because the place was Star Wars-themed) told me that he didn’t like the Rouge One hallway scene because Vader didn’t have his chain…
This guy doesn’t stop yapping, let Moist have his own opinion holy cow.. You criticize any opinion he has that isn’t your own, and it’s really cringy and annoying.
maaan ngl the last season of CW instantly made it from a B to a S maybe bc im super biased about liking Ahsoka but damn i loved that season and episode’s 8 salt scene was pretty dope with the cool AT-ATs
my list is a bit controversial S. Empire strikes back. Revenge of the Sith A. Return of the Jedi. New hope B. Attack of the clones. (controversial but it was one of my favourites as a kid) C. Rogue 1. Phantom menace. Clone wars. Solo D. Force awakens. Rebels F. Clone wars movie. rise of Skywalker. the last Jedi. the other one I honestly couldn't get through clone wars. Solo and Rogue 1 I started but I never got round to finishing them, probably watch them now. Rebels I can't even remember at all.
The theory was that palpatine summoned her life force into anakin so that vader would survive, this is why the droid could not explain why padme was dying.
Mandolorian is almost S tier like clone wars because of the part in season 3 when it’s like a end of attack of the clones when a army shows up for the good guys
Episode 6 is so much better than episode 5. The only downside are the first few opning minuts with c-3po and Rd-d2 and that the Film not works without Episode 5.
I’m saying this after i rewatched resistance. It is the best thing to come out of the sequels. Original characters, Rey wasn’t in it, plasma was used, and it had a decent amount of episodes
The problem with clone wars is that they've done character assassinations, especially with Dooku. I feel like Filoni hates Dooku so much. He is the only writer that undermines his power this much.
Don't forget Anakin. Who gives a whiny teenager a Padawan who is also a whiny teenager? That's just going to cause chaos, and sure enough, chaos was caused. If this weren't a Filoni show, Ahsoka would've been expelled from the Order the moment she got her squadron killed.
@@ECSOrder66 I actually like ahsoka has a character but anakin getting a padawan so early on makes 0 sense. If they made her Shaak Ti's padawan and had Shaak Ti actually get a canon death in the clone wars and have ahsoka fail her knight tryout or smth like that and have anakin see himself in her and than in the last year of the clone wars taken her on as his padawan. But I still have a problem with how they portrayed dooku as being useless without his saber. They are implying dooku cant stop blaster bolts and take on 30 random pirates with his chain lightning, makes 0 sense. Lucas wanted dooku to be slightly under yoda, even being able to challenge his former master.
@matthewchitcarof5692 I used to love Ahsoka, before I saw that she had the traits of a Mary Sue. She always gets out of her situations, she knows everything that the plot needs her to know, she can do things that she shouldn't be able to do, and her actions whether good or bad are always justified by the plot. Never once is she considered "rightfully reprimanded" Ahsoka never got better.
I think andor is critically underrated, most people have never even watched it because when it came out everyone had given up on Disney, but holy. Shit. This show is a piece of art, and I would say might even be on par with clone wars
clone wars is mid at best, it took everyone's previously established character and changed it. mace windu being on of the more egregious examples also ROS is infinity worse the TLJ
I only view projects with Lucas involvement as canon (yes, Bea Arthur is Canon…😂). Is is the story of the fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker. Ep I-VI and Clone Wars. Final season of CW is honorary canon since I am sure Filoni had discussions with Lucas about the endgame. Everything else is legends (and ignorable is desired). Only thing worthwhile in that era are Rogue One and Andor. Rebels was ok but went from kiddie to just weird stuff (wolf, whales, world between worlds, etc). Kenobi, Ahsoka, bad Batch, Resistance, BOBF we’re all awful. Mando was good at times but there were rough spots even in season one that just were too distracting to overlook (mostly humorous characters that weren’t). I don’t even acknowledge the sequel trilogy’s existence anymore. Sure, Lucas’s studs was uneven (Jar Jar, awkward romance, CW movie, holiday special) but is has stood the test of time, and Lucas has left a cool playground where his lessers (JJ) try (and fail) to learn from the master. From now on, I’ll enjoy what I like, ignore the rest. “Somehow the emperor returned” just isn’t worth the aggravation…
@@Imnotavirgintrustme Same. Honestly I feel like the second act of TESB drags on wayy too long (especially the meteor chase), even if the Yoda interaction and training is kinda funny at times. Also I think the revelation that Vader is Luke's dad has become such a bland spoiler to people who grew up with the trilogy (of course not a mistake of the movie, but the surprise is pretty much ruined for the past 19 years now). Like the person above you said, ROTJ just feels more satisfying. Luke isn't a farm boy anymore who is thrown in cold water and is supposed to fight impossible odds just to beat them with the power of the force and plot armor. In ROTJ he just feels like his own character, not a glorified gunner with a light saber at the end. A true Jedi who can avoid a fight if possible.
@@Corvolet5 I also like the whole throne room scene and Vaders redemption, it’s probably my favourite moment in the franchise. I feel like Empire although good, drags a bit like you said and I tend to look forward to certain parts such as the cloud city duel. Whereas with return I kind of just enjoy the whole movie
0:31 I don’t think he’s making a “hot take” he’s just saying which movie is his favorite, he didn’t explicitly say “ROTJ is the best” he said it was his favorite. There’s a difference in saying what movie is the best, and what movie is your favorite. You can have a favorite movie but also think another one from its trilogy is better than it.
About the sequels… My cousins started watching Star Wars with the sequels and thought they were boring af. I showed them the prequel trilogy and the next day they became Star Wars fans
@@maxwhite8616yes. One of my favorite video essay channels is actually a big fan of TFA and TLJ. The large majority of the fanbase dislike the sequels from what I’ve seen, but there are definitely some that do like them and for sometimes legit reasons.
I'ma be 100% honest, the Star Wars community is toxic, actually EVERY fandom is toxic these days you can never have your own opinion, if you say you like something that nobody else did or you didn't like something everyone else did, your opinion is immediately invalidated, let people just share their opinions without criticism
That’s the Star Wars fandom in a nutshell even with great stuff people will find something to complain about also Star Wars isn’t the only fandom that is this toxic here is the Minecraft community which is a rabbit hole I don’t want to discuss about.
@@bennetsalomon aaand there you go you're one of the bad fans that can't let people like what they like even if it's something as great as the prequels, you're so insecure about your micro peen that you have to hurt others on the Internet
I can understand why people don't like phantom menace so much, for me,i love phantom menace,i get soo much chills watching it everytime, the musics are all perfect, the underwater stuff are beautiful and give me chills everytime, the racing part yes it's for kids but i get goosebumps everytime watching it,and Duel of fates is nice,i think the thing this movie did good was the locations, all the locations were nice, and songs, and characters mostly, that enough for me to like a film
I agree with jedwerd count dooku is amazing with lightsaber fights and force powers play really well when it comes to fighting with a Jedi or something
Star wars fans need to know that death by a broken heart is a real medical thing that is more likely to happen to women after losing their spouse *Possibly not specifically after losing a spouse but much more likely in women and also much more likely the older they are and if they have experienced stressful event(s)
yup, and men experience this too. I had a friend who recently lost his father due to a broken heart, nobody knows the exact reason, all we know is that he had recently got divorced.
The difference is she didn't die from mental stress, she died because... she didn't want to live anymore. Losing the will to live means she sees no reason in living, so she chose to die.
@@ECSOrder66 That's not necessarily how it works. She didn't "choose" to die, like I can't just decide to stop my brain from living lol. She died from a broken heart, which is apparently a nonexistent cause of death according to star wars fans lmfao (aka 🤡). I believe it's called "Broken Heart Syndrome" which usually happens due to to extreme emotional or physical stress like in this case when Anakin betrayed her. It's rarely lethal but it is possible.
@@ECSOrder66 People die to the dumbest things imaginable in real life. Like when a guy got inside a suit case for a prank and suffocated to death. Ah but when a Star Wars character doesn't have a brutal and gory death it's automatically bad writing and terrible directing.
Exactly. Then this guy compared it to Maul being chopped in half and surviving. Even though these are two COMPLETELY different situations. Maul survived because he was filled with rage and anger. He didn’t want to die. He wasn’t heartbroken by the death of someone close. Meanwhile Padme just lost the one she loved. The government she loved. She was heartbroken and didn’t see any point in living. That combined with all the stress of giving birth to twins probably caused her heart to stop working.
In clone wars: Dooku lost to anakin Grievous a clown Anakin is basically static while yes we did have glimpse of him being "sith" like, it is nit nearly enough for him to beacome an actual sith. The clone wars shouldnt be a kids show, beacause all the political scenes are hampered by joke's cause they dont want the kids to be bored
Rogue One is literally one of the most realistic Star Wars movies, and that’s one of the reasons it’s so good. The grittiness and realism is so amazing. With all the main characters dying at the end makes it so unique and different from all the other Star Wars movies 😎
My hottest take ever is that attack of the clones is one of my favorite movies in the Star Wars series, overall I just like the prequels more. 1 - The action is AMAZING 2 - The cgi isn’t as bad as people say I think it’s pretty good we’re just used to amazing perfect cgi 3 - the story is perfect for what it’s meant for, it’s meant to set up the story in the originals and they do it great 4 - I love all the characters, Anakin, Obiwan, Qui-gon, Yoda, Palpitine, Darth maul in the first one, boba/jengo fett just pretty much anyone
@@gussyboyjrwhat’s kinda of weird to me is that ppl say cgi in early 2000’s is great for it’s time but I swear cgi has gotten way worse since then like if a movie came out today with great cgi that feels like that is great for it’s time
I love the movie too its my 2 favorite and everyone is always trying to prove how its so bad even when its not I also like roti it is my favorite in the ot and everyone always disagrees
Okay so you've not seen Rebels through to the finale. I'll save you the time. Its A tier. It's not clone wars, but its damn close and they handle the characters so goddamn well, it doesnt quite reach S tier but anything lower than A tier is an insult to good writing. (only 7 episodes of the entire show rate lower than 7 on IMDb and all of those are filler episodes)
Heres my order (my opinion) 1. Phantom menace 2. Rogue one 3. Revenge of the sith 4. Force awakens 5. Empire strikes back 6. Attack of the clones 7. Return of the jedi 8. A new hope 9. Solo 10. Last jedi
@@Sussivan 😂 also you for got one movie but it's better that way. My list 11.The last Jedi 10. The rise of Skywalker 9.the force awakens 8. Solo 7.New hope 6.rouge one 5.empier strikes back 4.Clone wars 2. Phantom menace and return of the Jedi 1. The revenge of the sith This was hard once I got past the sequels in the bottom 😂
I'm gonna get killed for this. Prolly picked the worst video to put my take on. 1. The Last Jedi 2. The Empire Strikes Back 3. Star Wars (A New Hope) 4. The Force Awakens 5. Rogue One 6. Andor 7. The Mandalorian - Season 1 8. The Mandalorian - Season 3 9. The Mandalorian - Season 2 10. Return of the Jedi 11. The Phantom Menace 12. Obi-Wan Kenobi 13. Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Movie) 14. Revenge of the Sith 15. The Rise of Skywalker 16. Attack of the Clones Not meant to undermine anyone else's opinion. I certainly mine is the GOATed take, but you don't have too. I don't judge you if you prefer the prequels to the sequels or the spin offs to the originals. All opinions are valid................most opinions are valid..........(When it comes to art criticism, not necessarily everything) I actually agree that the prequels get to much hate, despite how low they are on my list. And I have not seen Ahsoka, or The Book of Boba Fett, mostly cus they were just to boring to finish.
ROTJ is the best SW movie by far, S tier. Clone Wars 08 is mostly mid and forgettable with a few excellent arcs, but they aren't enough to bring it up. Andor is the best piece of SW media since the OT not counting the books. TPM is largely mid, but I enjoy it's worldbuilding and politics, so that saves it from D tier. Mando had one A tier season, one B or C, and one C or D tier, but together it's all C. The Force Awakens as a film is anywhere from C to B tier, but as a Star Wars film and the start of a new trilogy it is responsible for the shit worldbuilding that comes after, therefore F. However, it is the best movie of F tier. Between TROS and TLJ, TLJ is the better of the two. At least TLJ had balls, JJ Abrams is a cowardly director and can't do anything original to save his life. The Clone Wars 03 doesn't have as much worldbuilding as Clone Wars 08, but it has a much better art style, better fights, better villains, and is just a better version of events. Final hot takes tho, the SW books are the best piece of all Star Wars media hands down, and after all the prequels hate there has been an over correction and prequel stans are nearly annoying as prequel haters, they seem to be forgetting that the trilogy overall is C tier. S- ROTJ, Andor, ESB A- ANH, Rogue One, CW 03, ROTS B- Visions C- Mando, TPM, Solo D- Clone Wars 08 (movie and show), Ahsoka, Obi Wan, Bad Batch, Tales of the Jedi F- AOTC, TLJ, TROS Haven't Seen- Rebels, Resistance
Okay bro ngl you cant complain about Kylo Ren being winey and like Anakin. Just like how u cant complain about Rey being a marey sue and Luke and Anakin Taking down full space stations when they had no flight or combat experience whatsoever, cuz at least Rey had a stick and was actually a fighter before she had a lightsaber like what? And I dont like sequels but this biased stuff is terrible
Imagine spreading misinformation and saying someone ELSE has a bias. Anakin is "whiny"/emotionally guarded because he lived his childhood as a slave, and grew up entitled, thinking he deserves everything. Kylo Ren? No explanation. Luke and Anakin DO have flight experience, but apparently your fingers were in your ears when they said they were pilots. Anakin has been a pilot all his life, and applied that knowledge to podracing, him being the Chosen One allows for his quick reflexes and superhuman abilities. It's why he is the only human able to race, and why he knows piloting at such a young age. Not headcanon, that's in TPM. No combat experience? That's literally why they lose against their enemies! Dooku dismembered Anakin, and Anakin dismembered Luke. Luke has flown his T-16 back home to bullseye womp rats on his moisture farm. He even SAYS that to Biggs. Not headcanon, that's in ANH Using a staff does not translate well into swordfighting. You done embarrassing yourself, or...?
I agree about Rogue One. Too many characters, non of them developed enough. Felicity Jones is a charisma void. The first 2 thirds are boring (which would have been fine if the characters were good) And of course, too many "hey look at this, you remember this right?" And just the fact that the movie exists to answer a "plot hole" that didn't need to be filled. The ending is cool but I struggle to care, because the characters are so boring.
Star Wars resistance is actually not horrible. It is the best thing to come out of the sequels, it’s definitely worse then clone wars and rebels but it had original characters, Rey wasn’t in it, and captain plasma was utilized
"return of the jedi is the worst of the origanals" NO IT IS THE BEST EWOKS ARE AWSOME ALWAYS MAKE ME LAUGH JABBA THE HUTT SCEEN EPIC RANCOR SARLACK PIT BOBA FETT LANDO IN THE FALCON DESTROYING THE DEATH STAR PALPATINE AND VADER LUKES ALMOST TURN OBI-WAN-KINOBI YODA ANIKIN YODA LOOKS BETTER THAN EPISODE ONE VADER THROWS PALPATINE INTO A REACTOR SHAFT "FROM A CERTANT POINT OF VIEW" SO MANY FAMOUS QUOTES "YOUR GONA REGRET THIS" I DISSAGREE SO MUCH BUT I WILL STILL BE SUBSCRIBED.🤬😡😤🤦
For me Rise of Skywalker was Last Jedi. Last Jedi had ONE interesting idea in saying that Ray was no one. I thought the message of the story was going to say that you don't need to be born special to be special. So while Last Jedi disrespects the legacy of the franchise, Rise of Skywalker undermines the few things the sequels could've done to distinguish themselves. Reading "Somehow, Palpatine has returned" left me legitimately angry from the opening scroll in Rise of Skywalker to the end. It was just plot convenience after fake out death after another ANOTHER fake out death and i was just done with it.
Sorry for dislike and unsub, but it hurt me so bad that you give Return Of The Jedi lower than A New Hope edit oh f***, you said ROTJ is the worst in Orginal Trilogy, well then I'm not sorry at all
Yeah think about how much better Rise of Skywalker could have been if Last Jedi didn’t exist. Or even better, if JJ Abrams had directed Last Jedi himself. Or if Palpatine hadn’t SOMEHOW returned.
Rise of Skywalker was bad because it tried everything in its power to undo The Last Jedi. At least TLJ tried to do something meaningful even if the execution was poor, TROS just wants to be ROTJ again and is full of nostalgia pandering. I think TLJ is bad, the second worst of the saga but it had ideas and themes (anybody can be a hero and your family and genes do not define who you are) and it had some great artistic shots (Holdo maneuver, Luke's death even if you disagree on the circumstance which I do, I still think they have great artistic merit), Rise of Skywalker tried nothing except to undo The Last Jedi, it's in its own tier of awful far below any other Star Wars film.
1 Revenge of the Sith 2 Empire strikes back 3 Phantom Menace 4 New Hope 5 Roque One 6 Return of the Jedi 7 Attack of the Clones 8 The Clone wars movie 9 Solo Just for me to remind what is at the moment my top tier list
I think this is a very creative video, but also everybody has opinions to what they believe, like, and hate about something. So explaining why someone with different reasonings for something are wrong is kinda wack
Everyone knows the ONLY debate for #1 is Empire or ROTS and we all know Empire takes it. And this guy should stick to what he knows because he clearly doesn't know SW
