That's not it, they buffed it too, now if you wear 2 pieces of max blast protection armor, you take no knockback from explosions and if you wear 2 pieces of fire prot, if you walk out of fire/lava the fire is immediately extinguished

I would use it if it made the particles when ur on fire less blinding

the biggest problem with fire and blast protection is the fact that shields and fire resistance exist anything less than immunity for those damage types will never be worth the boring & tedious process of enchanting

Fire should scale in a reverse scale, so once you wear a combined level of 9 or higher, fire ticks begin again but heal the player instead (2 ticks of fire dmg = 1/2 hp, +1 tick per lvl until max of 20) this incentivises having a special nether set for regular gameplay. Maybe rename it to fire mending?

This logic would make sense if other types of pretection weren't exclusive with regular protection. I feel like you should be able to have regular prot & 1 other type of prot on top of it. Having all 4 would be understandably too much but of course.

On Bedrock it stacks meaning 3 pieces of fire prot II armour gives a 90% less time, preventing burntime.

I am a diehard fire protection supporter. It makes you be off of fire faster so if you play vanilla itll help with obstruction of view

Once upon a time, back in 2015, I fell into lava, I had a whole bunch of water bottles in my inventory, so frantically I drank one, which put the fire out for about 10 seconds. So I kept drinking these until I got back to shore. I don’t know if this still works or not.

How to fix minecraft protection system: instead of having Protection, blast protection, fire protection, or whatever, they should have Physical Protection and Magical protection. One protects you from Physical damage and Explosions, the other from status effect and potion damage. So, magic protection would work against Withering, Poison, Fire, and magical damage like some mobs that shouldn't have contact/arrow damage like Vexes, Phantoms, Shulkers, Endermens, Ender Dragon, Wither, Blazes and the Blizzard Blaze from trial chambers that i will never remember the name. Now with this system, there is enough magic damage for it to matter, and i think warden should have both magic (sonic boom) and physical (slap) damage. So we have enough damage effects for it to matter, and stuff like poison damage that is annoying is now counterable. I had this idea while sitting in my bed with nothing to do other than watching a short on youtube, but mojang never ever implemented something like this. And to balance it, armor should have a level of enchanting for each protection. The better the armor, the less enchantments it can receive. Diamond/Netherite pieces can only get Prot 4 of one or the other, but also can enchanted 2 levels of both so it balancea out, while worse armor like Gold can enchant 4/4 for magic/physical protection making it have some value. Of course we could receive a copper armor too! Copper armor with a system of corrosion that it gains durability while loses enchantability. I've seen a video covering a mod that has this, so *[this part is not my idea]* Now with the reworked armor system it makes lower level books also way more important!

Blast prot reduces explosion knockback and they actually buffed it as before it didnt stack but now it does
