What about wrapping the tires with some really good High quality braided fishing line. I myself have done this mod to a few sets of tires. And it has helped tremendously. Just an idea brother. Really enjoying this series of videos. You’ve definitely provided a lot of Information on the process.
And another suggestion about the steering what about cranking the servo saver down a little tighter. I know overtime and bashing those things will loosen up on you I usually check mine once a month. That might be your issue on having to correct so often. When they’re too loose it’ll add a lot of slop/bump steer slop kind of
@@earlmoorhead5555 Oh yeah definitely doesn’t last long. Especially on blacktop lol but I’ll have to see if I still have some they make a braided kind that is extremely good I got a couple good hard batches out of it even had some blacktop running.
You are a rock star Earl - keep rollin - and thank you for the amazing content, and the trial and error approach backed up with beforehand theroretic calculations :-) Love your videos and keep watchin them to learn more :-)
actually have a park that is a 5-minute walk away that I used to run at often without issue. Most of my cars have on-road tires now so I don't spend much time in the grass or dirt up at the baseball and soccer fields anymore.
Bro, I have been going very very fast on motorcycles for a long time. Drill some holes in the windscreen, let the air flow through the truck body more. You get negative pressure, you can’t keep that air out, not at 70mph, fighting it is creating dynamic resonance etc. try it. Can’t hurt. If it were me, three 3/4 holes across the front of the windscreen, maybe tougher tires. Mine keep exploding on my Typhon too. I’m trying to get to 100 off road first. Lol. Talbot is real close 😢
The sheriff's probly didn't show up because they have more important stuff to worry about than 1 man at a public park in a wide open field driving an RC. When that Ken called and gave his reason he most likely went to the bottom of the list of priorities to respond too. 😉
Earl, I know this wouldn’t be ideal, but what if you put K6 arms on it so the arms stuck out further, and then put some belted 3.8 prolines on it, and even thought that would be a lot more weight, the larger tire should increase speed as well. I don’t know that those tires would clear the body, but may even use hub extensions to push them out even further. I know it’s a stupid idea, but just thinking outside the box.
The speed there the tires are not and I feel the smaller rc has a rough time handling the bumps compared to a 1/5 scale but I feel we can find a balance 👍👌
I don’t know about this fishing line thing but it sounds so silly really such get good tires . Earl your doing better and better getting the all the bumps on the road to 100mph if it was is easy people would of done I believe you’ll get there great video thanks brother
It is really not cool some can't let people have fun doing what they enjoy. I had a Karen call on me because I was out, waiting for the "Your Ride" to come take me to my hobby shop a few years ago. Keep working for the 100mph, you'll get there.
Excellent video boss! I can't stand people that can't mind their own damn business! Seriously...how is what you're doing effecting that tool bag? I'm glad that crap doesn't discourage you(: 😁🤙💯
No it doesn’t as I’ve checked city rules and there is no rule for rc cars there unlike federal parks but I’ll stick to running at odd time so less people are around 👍🙏
Earl.that flag should be red.Somehow I have gotten the 100mph off road bug, probably from you.Been working on my Talion to achieve these reckless speeds.Trying to find a space big enough is part of the challenge,I am having troubles with no space in UK.Good luck man.watch out for dog Pooh.✌️
I think you’ll hit it by the end of October. Ppl need to learn to mind there own business calling the cops on an rc is dumb way worse stuff going on ✌🏼💚
Man sorry to hear that you had to deal with that petty BS. Like the cops have nothing better to do these days then to play preschool and respond to someone complaining about anouther person who is doing nothing wrong. You always go out of your way to be safe and respect your surroundings. This world is getting crazy, we are surrounded with Karen's and snowflakes these days. It's really sad how things and people have gotten. SMH
@@earlmoorhead5555 Yeah, I got one set of duratrax that are hard and very firm, the other set with same markings is soft like a maxx type tire. Don’t know what’s going on there. As far as the body and air flow, man, I’m struggling too. The Typhon body itself is great, but my tires sticking out like they are is stopping me. I can’t break 70mph on grass. I’m going back to the drawing board, my only other idea is to try a different rig altogether. I think I chose wrong
Dang just not cool about KEN to purposely call on you. Best part is everything you did was recorded and YOU were operating as safely as I see possible given the circumstances. Some people just need to BUZZ OFF
Keep trying Earl - you’ll be at 100 one of these attempts. Looking forward to that day. As for the grumpy person - nice way to keep your cool. Some folks just want to be unhappy and can’t let anyone else be happy. I enjoy the content you put out there. Keep it coming. 😊
Bro. These people need to stop. And mine there own business one of these days somebody gonna protest for calling the cops on you. Not cool oh it’s in California. Them haters needs to go
Unbelieveable, he called the cops on a guy running an rc in an otherwise empty field! Hope they talk to him about wasting their time. He ought to have the decency to come have a chat with you first.
Why is it, that people who apparently have no life, only get their frills from harassing, and policing other people's behavior? Nowadays you can't even walk down the block without a Karen, Or Ken, wanting to engage you in verbal combat. And when that doesn't work, try to scare you with the police? I'm not condoning violence, but this is how you end up in the evening news. For not mining your own damn business.
@5:32 - I had you pegged for a beard and mustache guy, much disappointed. Would a more aerodynamic body help? My slashes 'parachute' like crazy so I have started running the JConcepts 'BAJR' buggy bodies on them.
So many have recommended this as off-road has bumps the power would come on at the wrong time and cause it to loose control as you need to feather the throttle to keep is driving straight and on 4 wheels 👍
That guy acts like a Karen needs to shut up and mine there own business. Just saying don’t let them do you like that. Some people don’t have no respect for them self
EARL…i noticed when you set your end points at ,,,the house,,,I don’t know if it was the camera angle,,but to me it seemed to me the end point to the right was way less than the left end point,,,,you might want to check it again🇺🇸🚘👈
@@earlmoorhead5555 I was meaning the actual position of the end points. Not the numbers on the TX …I set my end points using the actual position regardless of the numbers. Which are never the same,,,,I guess it’s an eyeball thing…
I haven't watched yet, but calling the cops on someone for an rc car at a park? r u serious? welcome to california I guess. I drive mine in the street, a pretty busy half-mile road with a 35 mph limit, and I zip past the cops going 60 and they don't even look my way (as I stand on the curb open carrying my pistol).
I used to do the same thing with a couple of cars out front on my street. After one wreck at 70mph with a 1/12th scale car it sunk that I could very easily hurt somebody or damage someone's property. I'll be a bit more careful moving forward and I'll likely find a safer place, but I'm not going to judge others with small pets or with children that are made uncomfortable by what I am doing. Having said that, there are do-gooders out there just looking to be arseholes and those folks long ago earned my contempt.
Yeah, I take on that liability but I try and be as careful as I can. I generally try and wait until there is no traffic and I think I can make a pass, but sometimes a car (or cop) shows up off a side street. The worst case is I trash a 500-dollar car and have to pay for a car fender IMO. I don't run full speed if there are people or dogs around.
@@DESOUSAB I actually had two good wrecks the other night one after another, both in the 55 - 60 mph range. The first one broke nothing, the 2nd one broke a rear bearing carrier on my drag slash. Thankfully I had some old rustler bits to repair it.
@@fozzy7199 What would be wicked would be a designated area where we could run these things. I get that we are few in numbers, so the reality of that is next to nil. But then I look around at the incredible parcels of land that are devoted to "public" golf courses and I ask - WTF?!? Makes me want to go run on the greens... ;)
If people are standing in an unsafe area when you are drag racing, running RC cars, or even mowing your lawn.. its your responsibility to warn them as they may not understand the risk . having said that.. we all know some people are "sensitive" and have God written on their foreheads and think they have to police everyones actions all the time, do your best to find a better place to run, or a better time to avoid the lookie loos
And I’ve done both also verified that rc cars are allowed at the city park as it’s not federal park there allowed to run but even with that I go when it’s empty middle of a work week 102 outside so no one will be out there as for 45 min it’s was like that till the one guy walk under the tree and his main purpose was to police me 🤷🏻♂️
Earl - are you playing with us? Are you seriously confused as to why hurtling a 20 pound object at up to 100mph in a public park might draw some attention from the "authorities"? You know what you are doing and you do think about how you might avoid hurting others. But how do they know you know what your are doing? What if instead of it being you, it was some f@ckup like me running that car in that park at 100mph. I'm not as sensible as you - I'd probably hurt somebody. I'm just saying...
So head for a speeding rc or walk the other way ? Most walk towards it and it’s a public park for fun and activities I make it a point to burn up my rc to run an area where no one is at ! But to have ppl surround me to watch is my time to leave & I always do nothing in life is safe jumping out a plane for fun riding rides at a fair and definitely a guy cutting grass and an rc on the other part of the field walk away or walk at it ? Choices ppl have to make I can’t control stupid but I can control my action and leave ⚠️
@@earlmoorhead5555 Finally got around to watching the whole video. That dude was 100% a d-bag - there was literally not a soul in sight to be saved from you. Where I am from, people like that get slapped...
@@DESOUSAB I agree as he made me uncomfortable I chose to do half runs then just leave I always believe we can choose to walk away of confront someone and as he was on the phone I choose to leave but again was fallowed so I turn my camera on and started walking towards him idk why ppl want this kind of confrontation when all we want is to have fun but sometimes ppl are just bitter and lonely I guess 👍👍
So the thought and stop all enjoyment police(Karen and Kev's), phoned the police on you ,not realising Their taxes ,yours and everyone else's taxes paid to stop a toy. Those type of people will not even get past 3mph in their own tiny minds.✌️🤡
