That's not going to happen anytime soon. Partain/Benesh is our only hope from what I can see but Benesh has a lot to work on mechanically to get to this level.
They literally changed the game. Even the monotony of the game sometimes and the three strict 3 contacts. It's like every ball can be attacked on two or three. They are so good at passing, setting and blocking. Their athleticism is impressive. That's the most interesting pair on the tour no doubts. Probably will inspire the new generation of players
Exactly what I was thinking! It almost feels blasphemous for some reason watching these two. Absolutely amazing, a simple case of young and vibrant vs traditional and sleepy, not that the Norwegians are anything close to the classical example for the latter 😅
Sweden was not to be denied. I think Hellvig had a career game here. They're so exciting to watch and real, literal game changers. People will always talk about the jump sets and tthe on 2 option, but their strongest asset is their athleticism and the solid passing/receiving-it sets up everything else. It is such a contrast to their first day in the tournament, they turned it up. And the cake and dance at the end. How can you not love these guys.

everyone is taking about the jump set but the incredible thing about is that they do it out of serve receive so many times. everyone who plays beach knows how incredible hard that is
What a revolution of the game! Incredible to watch, and so so impressive. It would surprise me if these 2 teams wouldn't dominate the game for years to come. Beach volleyball is in such a good place right now! Love it!
It's nice to see these guys playing. Unfortunately our Brazil is lagging behind. Welcome to the Ahman and Hellvig tops club. We haven't had such a pleasure to watch them play in a long time.
Hellvig and Ahman are finally on the mountain top. So happy to see them finally knock down Mol & Sorum. I do not know how Ahman contorts his shoulder/wrist/elbow without tearing his rotator cuff. Insane insane insane.
This game was so entertaining to watch, especially as a fan of these Swedish Jumpsetters! David and Jonatan deserved that win so much and I hope they enjoyed their victory cake😌😂
That was impressive. Not to discredit the Swedes, but those conditions (absolutely zero wind) really take out all the risk factor with the jump setting and going on 2. But regardless they took complete advantage of it and absolutely dominated. Insane how good these kids are and they just keep gettin better
another thing to factor is in .. is that their style of place is heavily dependent on their athleticism. As soon as that dies down, it's going to be hard for them to compete at this level.
possibly, this game had zero wind. which throws off the accuracy of their on 2 plays. Which we've seen them struggle with in the past. I see a big adjustment period about to happen with the rest of the field. I can't imagine many teams being able to actually neutralize/match this type of play. That being said, I also believe they have the fountain of youth on their side - Coupled with their athleticism is an absolutely lethal combo. If they don't manage it in paris, I doubt this heavily explosive style of play will age well with their bodies and they'll miss their window for an Oly gold.
@@BlackMercurialVapor They are only 21. I think that they, avoiding serious injury, can sustain their athleticism for more than 1 olympic. I do agree with the wind aspect though.
I watched the swedes play when they where playing the below 20 european champion ship in baden austria and they were absolutly amazing to watch but I would have not expected them to reach such a lvl of play
Amazing!! I was sure that SWE will be the best in the world because of their speed and the 2nd touch attack. The global Beachvolleyball technic in the world will have to change today. Enough of 3 touch !! 25 years that I tell tall players to do this... As I m small I have a perfect reception technics and all tall players playing together don't understand me for 25 years !! Today they have the proof. Thanks SWE.
Whatever I have trained to tall people 25 years ago is in the SWE video. 1 more thing that they do not do is : the setting in PASS and if you set to your buddy in pass next to the antenna, you pass over the net to the other antenna behind you (to make the point)... that is a kind of impossible to know and saving such ball is a kind of impossible. However, I might think that the tall blocker could be very fast and tall... and can save such ball... when I do this (when I have a perfect moment to do this), no people can save such ball... but maybe in such high level of beach volleyball... it's easy for them ?
@@bluepawn They have a very difficult playstyle to counter. It is not easy to have Hellvig's passing technique, also think that you have just seen a game indoors without wind. And to perfect this style of play I have been training them for years in southern Tenerife and all over the world. They earned it.
It's definitely the BEST match I've ever seen. The level of players is unbelievable.. the game is so much spectacular! P.S. and the funny part is bout the best BEACH volleyball players are from the NORDIC countries 😁
Sweden just looks amazing. Ahman & Hellvig are both really tall so both can block and hit, and dig! They are pretty much the perfect package. Ahman is just so fast and versatile when it comes to attacking. We are looking at the new 'meta' of beach vball where we will see a lot of copy cats of this style in the future.
@@AshK69 as far as I know Åhmans height depends on who you ask. Some say he's 1,86m others 1,91m and again others 1,93m (i've heard all three from different commentators). While Jonatan is 1,94 I believe. There is not much of a height difference between them on pictures so I'd say David is a bit taller than 1,86m but that doesn't change the fact that they are not the tallest players. Yet their jumping and athleticism definitely makes up for the "lack" of height.
@@bjarki304 Åhman did look smaller than Sorum and Wickler standing on the prize ceremony. Hellvig is the one more on the small side compared to other blockers, but makes up for it in other ways for sure.
Being one of Mol/Sorum's biggest fans, am shocked that they had no answer in this game. The Swedes 2nd-touch attacks is the real game changer here that caught Mol of guard. All pro players have athletism, skills and speed. 2nd touch attacks is the only way to beat the Vikings. Congrats Sweden!
When i watch Jonathan and David i feel wery proud to be an Swedish citesent. Are they good or are they good. What a radar couple they are. Roger from Sweden.
The last time they playd, they put enough pressure on most serves to avoid the option. They didn't replicated that this time, always a good enough pass for Ahman
Oh, my gosh! Parabéns a essa dupla sueca jovem e incrível!!! BRASILEIROS, infelizmente, vamos ter que comer muito, mas MUITO FEIJÃO MESMO!!! Até quando esperaremos uma dupla que chegue chegando???
Jumps from 8-8 in the second set to 15-10. What happened? These highlights videos just don't give you any sense of the flow of the game. Very frustrating.
Mmm los noruegos se notan cansados , no creo que jugasen ni al 70%...los suecos han evolucionado mucho perooo...su técnica de engaño o de rematar al segundo golpe mmm es algo que quita emoción. En fin 🥴
Good for the Swedes, nice effort, but I don't like where this is going with the jump set. They're changing the game alright, but in a negative way. It becomes a game of deception rather than discipline, which I do not, personally like. I think jump setting should be forbidden in he rules. Otherwise we'll start seeing the game turning into a poker contest...
Sorry but how is that bad? All other ball sports do it. I dont watch volleyball and I guess they changed the rules recently. The game evolves with the rules and people will figure out how to deal with it. You mean before you couldnt fake smash to pass?
@@twotidoce yes, hand setting was a bit stricter, hence you had to play on more psychological level and also experience came into play. You could see older players being right there with the youngsters. Now this jump setting will end veterans in the sport. This is changing the nature of the game. Is it more spectacular? I think yes. But you will see, soon everything will be just trying to tip from the second with two hands. End of the sport as we know it
@@truthwizard ah i see, but is that bad? Apparently the swedes are pretty short for the sport so wouldnt that open up room for shorter players that has to rely on athletics and skill rather than being tall to be competetive? More competition means higher level of play. Do you not want to see new talent succeed? The new guys will become veterans just like the last ones but with the new rule set. Fyi im swedish so im a bit bias.
