This is the final video of a three-video series on Bleeding in Early Pregnancy. I discuss molar pregnancy, its diagnosis, investigations and management. I hope this is helpful! :)
I had a complete molar pregnancy in Jan 2022. Came to the ER with heavy bleeding🩸with blood clots and I knew I was pregnant like 5/6 weeks. I was so scared 😢for my pregnancy🤰🏻and they told me I had very high HCG levels. So, I ended up have two D&C and my HCG levels checked every week to make it goes back to normal and it did not.😢Then, I was diagnosed was GTD…..had to have 6 rounds of chemotherapy until HCG was at/under 0.8 (July 2023) I glad it worked and still able to have children 👶🏻🙏 ♥️January 2023 I’m pregnant 🤰🏻!!! Had a normal healthy pregnancy🙏 and a healthy baby girl in October 2023🥹Gracias a Dios✨🙏
Thank you so much for sharing your story, I just found out that I have a molar pregnancy, tomorrow is my surgery for D&C and I’m so afraid to end it up in Chemo, because I really want to have a baby, and knowing that even after chemo you were able to conceive gives me some hope ❤
I am suffering from molar pregnancy 12 yrs back and 3 cycle multiagent chemotherapy taken but till now no baby😭😭😭 lot of depression , I am struggling day by day in my life
I had one in 1991. The nausea and vomiting were extreme, to the point my throat bled. At the time of the bleeding and D&C I was 16 weeks (I had turned down an ultrasound because they were still relatively new). MY HCG was a million and a half, which was the highest lab value the lab had ever seen. The whole thing was a nightmare, particularly because there was no internet at the time and no one had heard of it around me. There was no one to talk to for reassurance, except the Dr. at the University Hospital who was not very sympathetic (terrible bedside manner). I was told to not get pregnant for a year., and I did have weekly blood tests until my value was >1. No one said anything about chemotherapy at the time, although a CT and MRI showed a small "spot" on my lung. They gave me the option of going in to biopsy it, remove it, or "wait and see". I chose to wait and see. I ended up having two healthy pregnancies after that, but I did have 11 ultrasounds with my second child and was considered "high risk". My heart goes out to any woman who experiences this. It was very traumatic. 30 years later, I still get emotional telling people about it. BTW, I did ask to see it after the surgery, for closure. It did not look like grapes. It looked like mushed up pomegranet seeds.
Thanks for sharing ur experience. I'm diagnosed with Molar pregnancy so going through all such videos on YT. Ur experience is like a ray of hope for me. Thanks again.
Amazing video! just one doubt- can the complete mole have a karyotype of 46YY (considering the sperm that fused had Y chromosome and then it duplicated) ?
Could it be molar pregnancy if I am 9 weeks pregnant, I was bleeding last 2 days with hard colic pain I end up twice in emergency. My hcg day yesterday was 12500 today 10780. Fetus at 6.6 without hear beating(which could be occurate to this time but I am 9 weeks actually). I was feelimg before all that started very bad with strong headaches and geneally feeling bad. I am not sure is related. What do you thing is? Tomorrow I am going to my obs.
The HCG is monitored until it goes down to normal. According to RCOG guidelines if it has come down to normal within 56 days, an HCG is repeated 6 months after ERPC. If it takes more than 56 days to come down to normal, an HCG is repeated 6 months from normalisation of HCG.
