I always wondered how to fill in details like this- I have the cupcake base from Miniature Sweet but it was so expensive! Now everyone can make their own high quality molds~ Thanks for sharing Toni! Most people keep the secrets for themselves but you decided to share with us, so thanks! If I ever get my hands on AMP then I am definitely going to try this!
You can use wire caps that are purposed for electrical outlets. They come in a variety of sizes and can be used by pushing them into the mold to make the initial cupcake base. You can google wire caps if you are unsure about what they are. Hope this helped!
you are the first person i have seen to make a mold tutorial and not use 10x more putty than necessary and also the have the tutorial be useful and not just a video of you putting stuff into putty which anyone can do
Do you use these molds for only resin or does it work for clay too? and what kind of clay would you use in these molds ( I figure polymer clay would not work)? Thanks for the video too it was really useful!
so after you've made the mold, when you put the clay in, do you bake it with the clay still in the mold? or do you take out the clay when it's still unbaked?
Have you ever moulded organic materials? I'm thinking about making my own leaf veiners (I want to make miniature curly leaf lettuce), but I'm not quite sure how to do it. Any tips might you have?
Thanks for all the great info. I have a question I'm hoping you can answer for me. I'm making a mold of a medium size Betty Boop figurine that I plan on using for fondant for a bday cake for my mom. When you have an item that is bigger would you suggest doing the whole item in the silicone mix or would you make two, a front and a back? Thank you again.
that's really mean! she puts so much time into making her videos and shes really good at it! dont call her a dummy! you shouldnt say anything if you arent going to be nice! you know ,she has feelings and dont think that they cant be hurt just because you are hiding behind a computer! heres my advice to you: BE NICE TO PEOPLE- IT WILL GET YOU FAR IN LIFE.
Great informative video! Thanks for sharing! I also wanted to point out that you didn't add any music to this video which I REALLY like because sometimes music in the back can get distracting :) love your vids such great content
Yes, you can get amazing mold putty for Michaels. If it is not there though, you can buy another mold maker called easy mold. It comes with a lot less in the package, but from what I have heard it is actually a lot better quality. Easy mold is produced by a company that makes resin. So if you want to get into resin you can use the molds you made for your clay with it. (if you use amazing mold putty for resin mold it turns out cloudy). Sorry for the huge ramble but hopeful I have helped you.
Woooo! Girl I'm about to do this! Thank u! U have been on a roll with supplies for these tutorials lately like I have almost everything! Lol! Hi cakeykhans I see ur post while typing this lol!
Hi! I love your videos, it would be really good if you had a list (of old vids) or a new video for a bunch of things you could make from 5 or so colours maximum - excluding the glue...etc They're so expensive. Just an idea, that's okay if it doesn't happen! Still love your videos.
For some reason you remind me of Tara from Austin And Ally, the girl who dated him in the recent episodes:) And I love this tutorial I've been waiting for something like this!
