moldugas are my favourite mini bosses, easy to find, fun to fight, and have bangers, especially when theyre vunerable, and when you kill them they give you good things
I don't think the bongo player gets appreciated enough. Trying to hambone along with that guy is actually exhausting, and their rythm really makes this theme _this theme!_
Considering they follow an Arabian style, I'd say that's not a bongo, but something like a derbak, which is more suitable to make this kind of beat, like you hear on songs for belly dance.

I still remember the coolest move i ever pulled. I accidentally sled into a moldugua fight with no high places close enough to run to in time. The thing was coming straight for me and was coming in hot. I slid off my sand seal and at the last second i had the idea to chuck a bomb away from me while standing still. By some miracle, this worked and a mulduga shot out of the ground inches away from me
Fun fact: this artwork is not possible in-game. (Regardless of if that cliff is there or not, the Shrine on the Great Plateau is glowing orange in the artwork, while other towers are blue, meaning that somehow Link would have to have left the Great Plateau here without finishing the initial Main Quest on it, which obviously is not possible.)
The part with the violins could perfectly be a battle theme from Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. As a KH fan and a Zelda fan, I loved this song when I first heard it
Yup! That was exactly me last night 🤣 I'm finally playing BotW for the first time, and just came across my first Molduga last night. Just mindlessly walking towards the Southern Oasis, getting very sleepy (it was late at night and I was playing in bed)... Then all of a sudden the music started playing and the name/healthbar appeared on screen, even turning the camera around I couldn't even see the moving sand at first 😅 That definitely woke me up haha "Why do I hear boss music?!"
Jaws just repeats two notes back and forth. This has a different motif. Despite being aware of the soundtrack and having seen the movie, never for a second did I think of Jaws when listening to this…

And I can honestly see demise cursing yonubo, riju, Sidon, tullin, impa, robbie, purra link and zelda to the endless cycle of reincarnation.
@@kirikun5636 It's possible that this already happened, considering the old sages swore to Zelda that the sages would be reborn to fight the Demon King. This could be interpreted that this happens everytime Ganon returns.
Not me just surfing with my sandseal through TotK, having a good time, and suddenly the music starts, the boss healthbar pops up and I ALMOST RAN OVER A FUCKING MOLDUGA WITH MY SEAL. Had to make a sharp right turn to avoid that mf and it scared the bajesus out of me especially because it was chasing me then.
It starts at 0:00 wtfdym, thats only the chorus, because this is the OST, the game just has it programmed to insta jump to the chorus once the molduga is down
