Translation:
"When the shadows lengthen in the afternoon,
the coffee plantation workers return to life in the city.
This is the sad song of love, of the old woman grinding coffee,
and in the lethargy of the night it seems to convey:
The pain of love and sadness are what the worker Manuel carries in his bitterness,
and he passes the night inconsolably grinding coffee."
