I packed a fishtank completely full of water balls (water beads, water balz, orbeez, spitballs...). Im guessing there are over 10,000 in there!
Anyway, I melted a bunch of old aluminum pipes and poured them into the fishtank hoping to create a cool design. And it worked perfectly! These are really unique, no two pieces are alike.
Vat 19 was nice enough to supply me with the spitballs to use in this video :) www.vat19.com/...
They are also posting a version of this on their youtube channel, which I will link to soon when its posted.
My Facebook: / thebackyardscientistof...
Thank you Tito4re for the inspiration!
I was watching a video by "Tito4re" where he poured molten copper on waterballs, and that inspired me to fill my fishtank with them, so go visit his channel, it would help him out :)

@@PhazonBlaxor another similar explosion albeit weaker but still instant is a highly soluble molten salt explosion with NaCl at 1000 celsius or NaOH at 400 celsius. @@2MeterLP it's typically not for the 'art' of it. Usually the people who do it are exterminators getting rid of invasive species of ants. The metal is an effective way of doing that, that isn't bad for other creatures (like using poisons would be, for example.) The metal that they dig out just happens to be interesting to look at afterwards. I have no stake in the debate on if it's the best method, I just happened to be recommended a couple videos on the process in the past.

@cyberlocc
@cyberlocc 8 лет назад
I am going to say yes, and for a reason. these water beads are common for using for water for insect feeders. there is also a flake version, same stuff different shape. Anyway the flakes have been known to stock to the insects, and then eaten by a reptile or insector pet. which has led to death of many pets in the past. Also these are a polymer plastic material your stomach acid will not dissolve them. As to excreting them prior to absorbing, I doubt it but am not schooled enough in human biology to know for sure. it would likely take a whole lot to hurt a person. But again they have killed animals.

I just saw a video on how actually dangerous pouring liquefied foundry metal into water can be even aluminum can act its potential equal to energy releasing TNT if your Moulton aluminum is in a pure form clean with no impurities in the aluminum but aluminumcreates a oxide that coats the metal so it's harder to get clean a molten aluminum into water but if you do you will experience two different kinds of explosions could all the liquid metal explodes upwards and out in a shower of molten aluminum or like I said the aluminum will explode with the equivalent weight of itself in TNT so good luck I wouldn't want 65g of TNT exploding of liquid metal in my faceat arm's distance this could definitely be lethal

doesnt even react with the hydrogen in the water persay, the H2O molecule is literally what reacts.

@TheBackyardScientist
@TheBackyardScientist 8 лет назад
+Thor Senpai I made something like the king of random made. There's a million ways to make them, sometimes you can't find all the pieces and you have to improvise but it'll pretty much work anyway. Just shoot Propane down a tube. the flared end isn't really even necessary honestly. For the crucible you can order one off of Amazon for about 40 bucks, or you can buy 20 stainless steel containers from a thrift shop for that price. I found cocktail mixers work great. The stainless steel will eventually get a hole in it though, but graphite crucibles are prone to breaking.

Supposedly out of their concern for others of course. What it really is amounts to a bunch of people that can't do anything DIY trying to get some attention and look intelligent by parroting the drivel an industry has brainwashed people into believing for their own profit based motives.
