Watching Mike on DDE going back to watch his FD drifting has been Awesome!!! Wish he was still competing but with DDE he’s got his hands full! But he seems to be having a lot of fun with them and getting to do a pretty decent amount of driving and drifting!!!!
@@MSA_CS40 100% and watching him grow in front of a camera on DDE is Awesome! He barely spoke now he’s wide open and he’s definitely wild at the new DDE HQ!
mike essa is becoming one of my favorite drifters with the way he takes time out of his day to reply to so many comments that isn't even on his channel. dude seems down to earth and that can be hard to find. between him and micah diaz i love the bmw chassis, just don't know what motor I want for my first year setup.
Thanks for the support man! I’m just another gear head that loves driving, and I love seeing the car community grow with positive people like yourself. I feel like the more correct knowledge that’s out for everyone to see the better the car culture will be.
@@MichaelEssa101 wow Mike its so awesome that you became the ONLY PRIVATEER DRIVER that's ever won FD YSOB and it was so messed up how Ryan screwed you at the FD anniversary party but he'll get his KARMA'S A BITCH ! AND SO HYPED THAT YOU AND TIM ARE KILLING IT LATELY WITH DDE ! When are u going to start modding your Porsche on the channel man ?
Hi, Mike Essa , always been a fan of yours, going back to the reverse entry in the E92 v10 car! I think I recall that you ended finishing 4th at FDATL!!! The sound of that V10 is those Georgia hills is sound that i will never forget! Also I got a super dope "Crooks & Castle" GSR autosport shirt from ya! Maybe I can get you to autograph it next time in ATL. Looking forward to this years events! Have a great season M. Essa!!!!
As I said in Mike's video... utmost respect for this work. Not only does he develop and build such great vehicles, he can also drive them damn well. And he seems like an incredibly nice guy. Greetings from Europe.✌🏻
Watching this big props to Mike Essa as a competitor and fabricator. Also excited to see what he does with the DDE F12 twin turbo build. It'll be Damon's car but Mike's fabrication and legacy.
Quick little correction. Before drifting was called drifting, people all over the US were "powersliding" in American cars and BMW's. Obviously BMW's lacked power, but had better suspensions with more wheel cut. The e30's used to cost about a $1000 and came with an LSD stock, so inevitably it became the favorite for those of us that liked to slide around. Then all the JDM guys in Cali started the whole "drifting" movement and they seemed to prefer their 86's and Nissans, but the entire time the rest of us in the east coast and south were looking at them and wondering why they seemed to stay away from the BMW's. I can't tell you how many people I tried to convert to BMW's over the years, so it's nice to see you guys finally coming around.
Have to comment on the line about the E30 "you can just get a junker", you indeed can, but junkers now cost €2-4k. A slightly built trackcar costs 12k.
We dyno'd 3 cars before and after Quick Change install and none made less power. Stock diffs are hypoid gear where QC is spiral bevel ring / pinion & straight cut drop gears. Hypoid makes less noise etc for oem and pinion hits crown in lower position which takes more power than QC where pinion hits crown in 3 o'clock position. We ran an S13 which has NISMO diff on dyno and right after that QC and it made 8whp more.
S13's with the 1.8 turbo were plenty in Europa and we had great times burning tires but not many survived . The S14 was rare but still available. 200sx they were called in Europe
Larry it's been 5 years since you did a feature of your Z. You did a very small one but then you didn't show or talk much about it ,you went to a show and that was the last word. Yep I know in your circle you ,think your Z is no big deal. But we the People, think differently. Time for a new feature on your Z and the up grades since 5 yrs ago " the Speed Hunter" vid. Thank you Larry for years of smiles fun ,creativity and Kick Ass Cars ! It's Jan 2021. My 2 Z cars restomods , I started 5 years ago, will be released back into the wild again, in Florida !
Yes. The size of the ring gear in the quick change is like 12” or something, plus the extra bearings and the extra set of gears (making it quick change) rob some Hp
My E46 is on a 51 plate I've had her 10 YRS, she's done 116,000 miles ,she's juicy gas in London way pricier than USA, but she's was all made in Germany everything built in house not a piece of rust in sight built very well not a RATTLE I love how she revs like a v8 she's stock had 148mph in France autobahn be lucky !GATE13SW6CREW cfc
@@MichaelEssa101 Not entirely sure, but i know some go as far down in displacement as 3 liters. facebook.com/JaasPerformance Theese guys can probably answer that question a lot better than me. They sleeved their 1200hp s54 after the cylinder walls started to show signs of cracking.
I’m sorry but s54 is no where close too a 2JZ not even a contest. Hense why essa has so many motor issues and 2JZ guys don’t. I’d pull that s54 and go too a lsx
Fcp is able to make money with the life-time warranty because the amount of sales they get from having that policy v.s the amount of people that actually take advantage of it are two very different numbers.
#MikeEssa is not only a Drift Champion, but a hero for all, a leader in the Fabrication Shop, and an allaround nice gentleman! I am attempting to watch every youtube on him. I have an e46, and want to buy one of his spare's to build my car up. Thanks Larry Chen for all of your determination sir. We see you, #e46DinanTouringXdrive->
@@chomin3025 I mean there are some wrecked mk5s popping up left and right and there should already be plenty of wrecked 40i bmw's with B58s still in them here and there.
