Alright, shredders, Mom's taking the mic! After Nick dropped his epic Cashy shred moment from 2023, I had to share one of my own. Picking just one was brutal, but this memory still makes me bust a gut even months later.
Picture this: late January, snow blanketing the mountain, and Nick barely riding on a gnarly knee injury. Cashy, my fearless little ripper, is itching for adventure, and who am I to say no? So, there we were, two shredding gals carving paths through the trees.
Now, with 26 seasons under my belt, I've seen it all. I know the frustration, the moments when the mountain throws shade and your board's like, "nope, not feeling it." But with Cashy, it's different. Watching her choose her lines, navigate the unknown, and embrace the wobbly bits, it's pure magic.
As I followed her deeper into the woods, she starts bellowing, "Mom, use your hands!" Like I can magically sprout ape arms and propel myself up the mountain. Gotta love that kid's logic! I chuckled and cruised after her, listening to her little lungs working overtime. Then, boom, wipeout! A slow-mo, giggle-inducing epic fail that had me rolling on the snow.
That laugh was a turning point. It fueled her stoke, even though our adventure was taking us who-knows-where. And soon, she was ripping again, aiming for gnarlier lines that had me holding my breath. But hey, when your board feels like an extension of your soul, you gotta send it, right?
The best part? When she hit that bank slalom, it was game over. Cashy loves those things, and watching her shred through them is like witnessing a mini Baker Banked Champ in the making. Sure, my nerves tingled a bit when she went full send on some steeper sections, but Nick was keeping tabs from the side, eyes glued (kinda) on his little shredder queen.
