Useless addition even as a filtering/guidance system. We could already see what sets are more popular. We could already see what stats are more popular. We could already filter artifact pieces when gearing. Only thing we needed was to filter out Main stat - not an entirely separate system for the same thing. Not only is it not what we asked for (for three years) but also is it not good at what it's supposed to do and a waste of development time.
Y'know what's crazy? I've been playing since 1.3 and I'm actually closer to have a dedicated artifacts (all with decent piece) for ALL or my characters than the actual artifact loadout. So far I got 6 emblems (raiden, xiangling, beidou, mona, yelan, aloy), 2 shimenawa (yoimiya, wanderer), 3 tenacity of milelith (zhongli, yao2, layla), 2 thundering fury (keqing, lisa), 5 deepwood (traveler, nahida, tighnari, kaveh, baizhu), 4 gilded dream (collei, alhaitham, thoma, kuki), 2 wanderer's troupe (yanfei, ganyu), 2 gladiator (noelle, razor), 6 noblesse (bennet, diona, mika, chongyun, shenhe, dori), 3 ocean hued clam (kokomi, qiqi, barbara), 8 viridescent (venti, kazuha, jean, xianyun, sucrose, heizou, sayu, faruzan), 1 crimson witch (diluc), 1 pale flame (eula), 1 blizzard strayer (ayaka), 1 marec hunter (neuvillette), 1 nightime whisper (navia), 3 golden troupe (fischl, furina, albedo). and those are the one I have full 4 set, I haven't mention the mixed 2 + 2 pieces one
You know, looking at all of these builds, they’re solid B tier (MAX). I think that this new feature is good for new players who have no idea what they are doing and need some help, but for those of us who have been here for years this is useless. I personally only use this to see which sets people are using, because I value set bonuses and no way am I remembering every set bonus in the game. I would NEVER let this thing autofill artifacts for me.

An interesting experiment indeed. Manually taking artifacts off all characters seems like a nightmare. Looks like this system is not that great even for beginner players, as it can give them cringe builds without er on er-dependent characters + it doesn't take into account alternative builds like crit/em Raiden. The main reason I wanted loadouts is to switch between different builds quickly, so this system was completely useless for me (and for most long-time players) to begin with. Calling it loadouts seems like a deliberate show of disrespect towards players who were asking for this system tbh.
Yeah switching artifacts manually is a pain especially when you don't remember which character has which artifact, I've probably messed up a bunch of my character builds because of this💀
