I believe that it was the custom in Egypt, when a household cat died, the family would go into mourning for a whole year. I can understand that!! I had a lady tabby for 23 years, and still miss her greatly, even though she's been dead now for 20 years.

@@theo9952 Yeah we adopted her from a local shelter in 2000. I have literally spent more time with this cat than most people in my life. She's getting frail but she is hanging in there, still plays like a kitten, and I take every opportunity to give her as much attention as possible.

This is beautiful beyond belief. I adopted a pregnant Persian mommy cat and raised her and her 4 gorgeous kittens, it was a truly transcendental experience. Such beautiful, intelligent and affectionate creatures.

She's a good mom to her kitties. They must've been the cleanest cats ever! She was always kissing and cleaning her babies. Now that thew kittens are adults, they will treat their little ones the same. Thanks for sharing!
