Mom died 12 yrs ago & son put items in Storage Unit! ~ WHY did he pay over $15,000 on Locker?

That's a simple question to answer. After losing my own mother back in 2001 I had an almost overwhelming need to hang on to as much of her as possible. But, with time, the need seemed to fade with the realization that the memories I had of her were far more important than anything she owned materially...bettin' he was in the same boat!

Me and my brothers went thru this in 2012 so heartbreaking for us. At one time these were all moms memories! Miss mom so much!

I'm sure I'm not the only person cringing at the way you aggressively trample through the bags and boxes of ephemera . Every fold , wrinkle and tear due to improper handling diminishes their value significantly. Rifling through these items with dirty hands depositing oily finger prints can be destructive and easily avoided by the simple use of latex gloves. With that said, I wish you luck in your search with max reward.

Wow that blows my mind and breaks my 💗 that the lady passed so long ago and the son did the right thing by paying on the unit. but come on…12 freaking years? That’s major loss of money 😱 this just proves that there’s a big chance that future generations aren’t going to want anything except maybe some pictures 😢

I found the obituary of the woman in the photos. She died in 2021. She was involved in the theater and acting in NYC, but grew up in Cleveland. Maybe the owner of the stored items was a relative. Perhaps she saved those old TV Guides and Ebony magazines because they featured actors that she admired/studied. At first I thought the woman in the photos might have had a role on a show and her name appeared in the TV Guide, but her obituary doesn’t back up my theory.

Those sleds were the Cadillac's of sleds back in the day. I still remember them from childhood.

Old magazines hold value in a few ways - one being alcohol advertising. Lots of collectors of vintage color ads. Don't throw the mags out!

Looks like you had a bunch of movie manuscripts in there. With all the paper clippings in side there makes me think someone was a writer and used all the paper clippings and magazines for research. I wonder if they were all written by the same person (writer) or different people (which could mean actor). That Rocker is awesome. 🚂🚂🚂

I think this lady had something to do with Theater. Some of those clothes could have even been costumes. Worth looking her up and findind more out about her

Might be a bit of an odd-ball suggestion, but rather than dump some of that stuff it may be on intrerest so some local media production companies, or retro interior house designers, for 'dressing'.

Virtually everything you laid your hands on has vintage antique value I don't have to tell you that but it was so fun watching you pull out every item. Oh boy this is telling me something right now. 1st of all $15,000 which must of been around $50 to $100 a month. Me and my Brother's Father passed away December 14 2021. And wr have his stuff in storage. Trying to figure out what to do with it all. Cause alot of it is very valuable and we know we can sale them. I don't know how to work ebay. I downloaded the app and put 1 item on ebay to see how would sale. I did not get 1 view on it. And now ebay is charging me for the item. I just put sold somewhere else and took the item off and still had to pay ebay $20 which is stupid. So on the storage with our Dad's stuff I don't know where to begin or how to even try to sale items except do a yard sale. And can't do a yard sale untel I move into a house where I can do a yard sale. And to post every item on Facebook market is gonna be difficult too.
