I don't think the mother dogs even understand or care where the babies come from, so they are very protective, specially as strange male dogs can harm or even kill the puppies.

They are not operating at max capacity, they are literally in overdrive mode with their parasympathetic nervous system. Any person with a sliver of reason knows to fear animal mothers and stay away from cubs, pups and all young. Heck even human mothers do incredible feats of strength when it comes to their kids. It’s called adrenaline fool, a literal superpower that many animals evolved to temporarily surpass their physical limits. It doesn’t matter if the male is stronger, because the female running at beyond capacity with their limiters off and pain dulled will inflict significant damage before the male can react accordingly- though the stress on the female’s body can be quite damaging. Now both males and females can get Adrenalin surges. However it doesn’t change the fact that a female with an Adrenalin surge is still extremely dangerous and can inflict lethal damage that they normally wouldn’t be capable of. And you can’t trigger this on command, life-threatening situations or triggering of certain instincts are required to get the surge. Seriously just look up what feats human mothers have done when it came to protecting their children, and then look at non-human mothers. Tons of anecdotal examples as well as statistical analysis in scientific literature.
The body language was undeniable, you could see the male had a perimeter around him, and the pups were aware of it, but wanting to breach it. When one did, he let them know, and the pups, who were already wound up, reacted in fear. The mom, did what she’d do in the event of any real or perceived threat, and shut it down right away... with prejudice. It’s true for all mammals, don’t mess with a sleep deprived nursing mother.

Females by nature are easily influenced, that's what makes women more stubborn than men in general. Women tend to learn a lot by other people's experiences other than herself. For example... You have to understand the Mother Mode. It kicks in unexpectantly. She would die for her baby, and any perceived threat can set her off. In time she will learn to taper down the response depending on the situation.

At the beginning, can you see the panic in dad's eyes. He knows that when the puppies come close to him he's gonna get some from mom no matter what. Driven into a corner and no way to get out as he's surrounded by puppies is only option is to tell the puppies "plz get away from me, you're getting me in trouble with mum." Ofc the puppies immediately turn around to mum as they know she was just waiting for an excuse. Poor little dad, doing nothing wrong and being a gentle man to the very end by not going in on her vile behaviour.
I, as a young lad, was being bullied by a young lass, physically bigger than me when we were out on the playground. To the point of tears. No one took side, the girl was not even talked to, and no one was blamed. I was the one getting attacked, but I was seen as the one overreacting. It's tough out there for the lads 😆

Half the reason the yipping puppies are there but of course, all the raising responsibilities go to MOM. Lord forbid SHE has a quiet corner and dad gets off his BUTT and does something! If you want peace and quiet and to be left alone, don't get married, and don't have kids. If you do CHOOSE to do those things you get every consequence that comes with that! pretty sure the puppy on the right twisted his leg when he was startled, hence why he was flailing on the floor. soft tissue injuries are common for puppies and this is the sound they make when it happens.

@@kirstymackenzie2437 All male mammals kill and eat the cubs that aren't his, then he will mate with the mother of those kids, if the mother refuses, he'll kill her too. These pups are probably sired by him so he didn't fight back.
@@mayya4413 What source is that from? I have never heard about dogs or even wolves doing something like that in any normal circumstance. Only when a young is already dead or dying or the adult dogs or wolves are under a significant amount of stress. And then specifically it is the mother more often than not.
