"The only way to get experience is to have a real job. And the only way to get a real job is to pretend to have experience." SOOO TRUE LOL that's why in s3 ep3 Christy was like "we stayed sober, we didn't give up, and eventually we found employers who believed our lies." lol
I work in interior designs where I send schematics out to bid. I'll share some sage advice: Never solicit work to contractors who are independently listed or have no ties to a larger entity. Hire a reputable company to send out subcontractors specialized in that field. Make sure under contract it reads that they perform quality work and on time.
@@aaliyahfoster2705 Also licensed, bonded and insured. I worked for a large hotel chain and the outside contractor we hired to re-glaze our bathtubs did horrible work and many times he would not show up when he was scheduled to do work. Needless to say, I discovered that he was not licensed bonded or insured and shorty after that he never showed up again.
@@tj.espygil4544 Exactly, I've had horror stories from my intern years where our lead interior designer hired contractors for cheap due to clients in different states that she wasn't familiar with and was awful at convincing the client to pay for a more "premium" contractor. 75 percent of the time during site visits, a good portion of things on the punch list were needing patches and complete re-dos despite the contractor saying it was completed. Come to find out, they weren't licensed or had previous work experience in carpentry-related fields. The cheaper the contractor's rate, the more expensive they are upon occupancy. I ended up jumping ship to a boutique interior architecture firm so I wouldn't have to deal with this amount of inconsistency.
My sister hired a guy to do her bathroom because her late husband liked him. After all, he was a Christian. He brought his two sketchy sons, one fresh out of prison, where he is today. Now the bathroom is completely out of service. The Christian man said he would make it right, he never did. Never came back or called once.
