Man the part where she’s being wheeled out of the hospital is probably the scariest thing for me. The fear and desperation in a situation where you can’t talk or move to signal for help is unimaginable. That’s probably one of my biggest fears

The ironic thing is that if the "mother" had raised her "daughter" with real love (instead of obsession) and allowed her the freedoms that every young person should have, her "daughter" would have always loved her and maintained a good relationship with her throughout her life.

The actress to portray Chloe did great, brilliant performance!

There’s a case of this happening in real life the child that was abused had to kill her mother in order to get away and a jury actually put the child in for over 20 years. That’s justice for you.

I've watched this before, but the fact that her mother gave her dog pills is literally terrifying.

That 7 year period Chloe must have mustered all the reasons, and now wants revenge. She realised how much she missed plus she's partially disabled. Her feelings for Diana - completely lost.

The most disgusting thing about this is not even that the mother kidnapped a child (a close second tho) but that she spent her own money to give a healthy child the diseases her own child couldn't survive

Wow that ending is something else. I wasn't expecting that! She gave her the same treatment that she's been getting since she was born. DAMN.

I swear movies like this is a frickin satisfying thing to watch.

Never understood why the sleepy needle works. Like turning around to see who jabbed you with a hypodermic needle would cause the needle to break instantly and you won't get the injection. Who just stands there perfectly still until the whole dose goes in?

Unfortunately there was a real life case similar to this (not the dosed with paralytics part, but) the child did live in a wheelchair that wasn't needed & was given things to make her sick & was told to exaggerate or outright lie about having multiple severe illnesses in order to financially benefit when there was nothing wrong with her. The child's name was "gypsy rose", & unfortunately the situation ended tragically, as she ended up convincing her boyfriend to murder her mom, in order to "run away together". Both are behind bars for life, if I'm not mistaken...

so even at the end she managed to pull off an uno reverse, well played.

Chloe was extremely smart! She planned out everything well and even got back at her “mom”! And she made the best choices for those situations!

the ending sounds like a big FU to her captor.

This woman's idea of love is so mixed in with obsession that she can't even tell the two apart, that's the most frightening thing I find about this other than her paralyzing her daughter, because it's something that people might do

Okay not every Nurse & Doctor just leaves the patient they are currently attending when a Code Blue is called, the alarm from the movie. A) The Code Blue alarm is not just something anyone can hit like a fire alarm. The Code Blue buttons you see in Hospitals, particularly by Elevators, are just meant to get the elevators to the floor faster, they don't call in the Code Blue. B) Hospitals have designated people for Code Blues, larger hospitals have multiple teams designated from the medical staff & these teams can rotate through the hospital medical staff. So the nurse just leaving Cloe there is pretty much BS.

It's like Gypsy Rose Blanchard story. The ending in Blanchard's is way scarier though. Plus, Blanchard wasn't adopted.

This movie depicts Munchhausen-by-proxy pretty clearly. It's basically a mental disorder where a caregiver believes and "causes" health issues on another person, and the usual cases are apparently parents with children.

Ironically enough, I saw this film with my mom. We were just going through stuff on Hulu to watch and we stumbled upon this. We ended up loving the movie. Great mystery and acting as well. And that ending was soooooo good!

I'm really glad they got an actual disabled person to play the role of Chloe, instead of hiring an abled actor to pretend which is what usually happens.

that one thing I love the most in this movie was NO ONE is stupid. 1. Chloe broke the glass using heat and water. 2. Tom wasn't convinced by Diane's plead and asked Chloe "Hospital or police?" 3. Diane watched Chloe trying to surf the Internet. 4. Though not shown in the movie, I'm sure the nurse did something after she found the note. If you haven't watch this movie yet, you should. 10 out of 10 in most aspects you could name.

If only that mother just let the child lead a normal life. She wouldn't have to tamper medicine labels.

Love and obsession are very close to each other but not the same. Chloes evil mom tried her to stop from knowing the universal truth. But in the end it was chloe owing to sheer willpower managed to get free.
