@@bigbirds-bs7ov "The system" doesn't get the money, the bondsman keeps 10% for putting up the bond. The rest goes back to his family if he keeps all his court appearances. The money is only "kept" if he flees and isn't recovered within the required time (typically 6 months). In this case he shouldn't be granted bail at all as he should be considered a risk to the community.
My family is penniless. My sister’s bond was $100,000.00. My parents sold everything that they owed. My sister is with us. Anyone can scape up a few dollars if they honestly need be.
