Your mom was so right. She really didn't know how talented she really was. And what's worse she didn't know how loved she really was. She is my generations Janis Joplin. A soul Icon. Addiction is real and has no prejudice. It's takes anyone.

Alcohol is the hardest addiction to kick; it's every where. She died of alcohol poisoning. She had a weak liver 'cirrhosis' and had been tee total.

Valerie is my mom's favorite song by Amy Winehouse too it reminds her of her sister Valerie lol she died of cirrhosis of the liver alcoholism this song always makes me feel different emotions sometimes sad other times happy she was amazing Amy Winehouse wish drugs and alcohol didn't exist anyone else agree

chunkyjer Adele and Amy Winehouse were contemporaries. Amy was influenced by Billie Holliday, Mary J Blige, Erykah Badu, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin among others. She didn’t exist in a vacuum

Amy never wrote "Me and Mr Jones" It was written by Billy Paul originally "Me and Mrs Jones"

Just had to apologize as I looked it up again and I was in the wrong. Amy did write “Me and Mr Jones” you are correct, I apologize. She was however inspired by Billy’s “Me and Mrs Jones” and wrote her own songs and they are two totally different songs even though the plot might be somewhat similar. *Just had to correct myself and say sorry *

I’m older and a big fan of Led Zep, The Doors etc but Amy is one of the few ‘newer’ people I listen too, incredible talent. She or Mark didn’t write that song. It’s a cover from a UK band. The lead singer was in love with Valerie from NY. She couldn’t come to UK due to major legal trouble.

Very special indeed. How often in our lives do we come across someone so blessed? I'd love to do some research as to to who she listened to as a kid. But I'm a old fact at this point and I believe that with my musical taste history I could make a quite accurate list with no help.

As you can see by her arms ect this was Amy on the way to her death , Amy was a lovely Jewish girl . Absolutely gorgeous. With fame she found drugs . Not party drugs . Crack n herion due to her boyfriend Blake , her father also is not innocent In this he exploited her . Let her be a warning to any parents out there just because ur kid has talent. Is it worth it ? Can they handle it ?
