The liquid is a toxic relationship that she is about to get into and when she starts crying it out it represents the negativity that happened in that relation ship and when the liquid pours across the floor it represents suicide because of what toxic relationships can do to a person. I cry Every time i hear this song 😭😭❤️
I don’t take that as an insult, no matter how the mother meant it. 🤷🏻♀️ It’s true; Billie is disturbed. She’s been through disturbing things, from what I’ve gathered. I’m sure she’s relatable for a lot of people, & it seems she’s artistically expressing herself to try to get the hurt out (thank goodness). Apparently, “when the party’s over” is about a toxic relationship. If that’s the case, I think the video was done appropriately...relatably spot-on, actually. Real problems don’t have a pretty face, & I would’ve helped the mother see that. 🙂
she has fixed mindset. but tbh everyone is in some way. We all have preconception and she is just watching this for the first time. If she was given more time to explore and look deeply into music. Then she would understand what we understand.
Why? Having a good and strong message on this song DOES NOT CHANGE THE FACT that she could be a disturbed child, just listen to what she writes and sings. I ve been reading/listening about her and seems like shes actually been through some stuff (so yes...disturbed child). People should stop being pissed by reality
the meaning of “when the party’s over” is that everything was white to represent how pure and happy she was and then the black was something toxic. she sips rlly carefully at first almost like she is scared to go for it because it is bad for her. and then she drinks it’s very fast, like she is hooked and falling for it and can’t get enough (maybe a person). then she starts to lose control and the relationship is super toxic and causes her so much pain that it consumes her(the black tears) and then it just completely consumes and overtakes her until she is left as nothing (the black spilling out everywhere at the very end) and it destroyed her
Not everything has to be cute and pretty. Stuff can be dark and her singing is a way of her expressing all the emotions in her. Girls don't have to go by the stereo type of being nice, funny, smart, cute, and pretty.
PREACH I was screaming this (in my mind) to the mom when she said that. like, not everything is rainbows and unicorns. I prefer someone who expresses their emotions, even if they're so-called "depressing" than someone who puts on a fake face just to please people like the mom.
Yeah, I feel that the dark themes are more relatable than the lighter themes, and just because they are darker doesn't mean that she is disturbed, and if she is that would make everyone who enjoys her music disturbed. I showed my parents these music videos and they felt weird about it too. I don't know if it's a new age thing, were we think more in depth about things like this or not, because my mom and dad thought similar things to how his mom did.
kemiyah nelson broooo I swear I hate when moms do that shit. I’ll literally explain something head to toe and my mom won’t take in a single bit of it. You don’t understand how triggered I get.
I can tell your mom has lived a simple life, someone who has gone through a lot can see the message and age isn’t what makes a difference, it’s almost impossible to know how someone with depression feels when you don’t have it and have read nothing about it, it’s the pain in her videos and the feel message behind the song that makes people relate and enjoy it. And she’s not disturbed she got her own problems and this is a way she deals with them.
Well I guess it is different perspectives. Although I don't agree with her, she is not taking away anyone's right. Plus, this is her first time so it is understandable why she has some preconception.
Why girls gotta always be pretty. Why can’t they express themselves through art and not have to stress about looks. That’s what Billie tries to get away from
@edith it's actually about people we can't really see controling young artists and billie herself - especially their minds. Look up the meaning.. title of the song doesn't mean she actually buried someone
I dont think she disrespected Billie. She voiced her opinion. I dont find anything wrong with it. It is criticism (maybe not constructive) but it doesn't take away someone's rights.
@@suak.5703 She\He, was triggered by her opinion, and you said you don't find anything wrong with it, but they might find something wrong with it because they love billie eilish specially probably and stuff.
The mom pissed me off. Like I'm sorry I know it your mom and all but especially her reaction to "when the party's over". The song is about the darkness (the black liquid) consuming her and her life. It's not disturbing it's meant to be an emotional video.
Billie once said she likes to put herself out there so maybe in 'when the party's over' she seemed a little bit anxious but it's only an act to portray the deep meaning of this song btw you seemed pretty annoyed by what your mother said and I like that lmao; also you're likeable so I gave you a subscribe 🌻 I hope my English isn't weird 'coz I'm Polish and I'm pretty insecure about my skills
the way she hesitates to express this thought - in my opinion - just underlines how much of a lie it actually is and that she just tries to "fit" into a certain ideal role of a perfect mom that nowadays supports euqality and is against racism and all..
@@lennilox I took the hesitation to be someone of an older generation stepping carefully in today's PC world. Lots of older generations know the language they use can trigger people today, and know they have to be careful, but aren't taught the correct language. That is what I think her hesitation would be. Bringing up race is a big deal, even though she's only talking about the colour dynamics on screen, because their skin colour (and clothing colour) are aesthetically pleasing on screen. It's been made a touchy subject due to race, even though her comment had nothing to do with race as opposed to just their skin colour.
Adults don’t understand teenagers 😂 I don’t know why your mom doesn’t like any of her videos. Love that you tried to let your mom understand her message. Good video!
I feel like in this context she needs to reevaluate her perception of "beautiful." Beautiful isn't always conventional, it comes in many forms, the message was beautiful because of the fact that it can be interpreted in many different ways. This song is beautiful and the video is beautiful because she isn't afraid to look "ugly." She's so artistic and I love that kids my age listen to these deep, meaningful songs regularly. It lets people know that they aren't alone.
His mom said it wasn’t gentle kind and loving and I think she’s only used to music that sounds good and doesn’t necessarily realize that a lot of music is meant to carry a deep message and make a strong point now just be pretty.
I think everyone is entitled to their opinion I just wish your mom didn’t call her disturbed cause thats kinda mean. I mean Billie is very creative and has a very deep & beautiful mind & I just don’t think i’d ever use the word disturbed to describe her
Your mom seems to already have an opinion about the youth. She doesn’t seem to understand that these videos are art and it’s supposed to have a deeper meaning. I’m sure she thinks Billie just wants attention and isn’t dealing with real issues everyone of ALL ages can relate to. She needs to remove the rose colored glasses. Life isn’t always beautiful and we don’t always relate to beautiful things. Truthfully I don’t want your mom to react to anything else. She won’t appreciate true beauty and art.
Um. Well I guess its her perspective....so I dont see the bad side of it. She does have fixed minset but everyone does. Everyone has preconception. Plus its her first time seeing the music videos. Therefore, I understand her reaction. If she has more exposures, she might be able to understand the deeper meaning. I also think it is quite hypocritical to put your own preconceptiom about his mother because of this one video. It may be true but it may be wrong. We dont know and I found it funny how you voiced your opinion for her lack of understanding and assumptiom while you form assumptions about her.
your mom just killed me lol but im 100% sure my parents would react the same way. Billie is honestly such a beautiful person inside and out and her music is so deep i love her so much ❤️❤️
Hey she's interpreting it her own way, but yeah basically it's about toxic relationship with anyone, and the drink is black because she's taking in toxic well vibes and her tears become dark as well because she crying it all away, well that's just how I interpret it
Shes really fixed on music video more than the music itself. And she seems to not listen closely to the lyrics and the meaning behind it. She must only like songs that sound good to her ear more than worrying about the words and all that. Your mum also has a certain perspective on teenagers and all that. She reminds me of older people saying that social media is affecting our brains and the way we think, us teenagers are silly and immature blah blah blah the list can go on Also her saying in the "when the party's over" she says that billie is a disturbed child!?!? What the heack no its art and it all depends on how you view it. Just like modern paintings for instance. There may only be splashes of paint and smudges on a canvas but it can have the deepest meaning
But like you said, it depends on perspectives. So, isnt seeing her as disturbed child also another perspective? Yes, she is fixed but tbh everyone is in some way. We all have preconception and she is just watching this for the first time. If she was given more time to explore and look deeply into music. Then she would understand what we understand.
(Billie has depression so that’s why some of her songs are super sad and like emotional) Lovely is about Depression and how to escape it (in my opinion) and When the party’s over is about feeling that you aren’t enough for your lover and you have to let me go (in my opinion) and the black liquid is her taking in the toxicity . I hope this kinda helped
With the depressing part i believe she still has it based on the video of the comparing of her interviews from this year and last. She looked more sad than she did last time, I hope she gets better💓💓
its not DiStUrBiNg! I love your opinion on things and on her voice and everything, but your mom's opinion kind of really annoyed me. Billie is a queen.
Not everything is happy and pleasant, that’s what I love Billie, she understands that so well. I thought the same thing as your mom at first but once I grasped the concept that her songs are so raw and genuine and about her true feelings and thoughts. You can understand and respect it so much when you can understand and relate to her and her music and her thoughts. I can easily relate to her so much and now I am AN ABSOLUTE GIANT STAN AND I LOVE HER MORE THAN ANYTHING. She has an amazing and genuine sound, she’s so raw down to earth and so is her voice. I have so much respect for her her brother and her music. She represents gen z in an amazing way.
9:15 not everything is like that. Sometimes life is sad and depressing and I love how Billie isn’t a shame of that. I love her songs cuz she isn’t fake but sings about real life💗
I think the meaning behind “when the parties over” is that everything is white so everything is pure and happy and then the black liquid represents sad and darkness and she’s afraid to take that in and eventually she accepts it and she tries to hide it until everything snaps and falls apart and starts spilling and rushing out hence the black spit and tears and the end where everything turns back is how she becomes consumed by it btw I’m only 12 and I interpreted that from that video
I love her and her voice, her voice is so calming, I love the way she acts in her music video, and how she’s so down to earth. Her and Khalid’s voice sound so good together 😍💜
She kept saying that she is distributed and that she is discussing and I almost cried because Billie is my favorite singer and he is so nice about. I love him
I honestly love seeing how you’re trying to defend Billie and our generation and explain how you see a deeper meaning. I love it. We need to get the older generation to have open minds again ❤️
i showed this to my mom like the first day it came out and I was like its a message and shes trying to send that message out and she was like 'no honey she's on drugs' and like I get it like older people don't understand messages in music videos or other things and don't understand arts and stuff but its funny though
I loved this video, and the way you explained the different videos please keep doing videos because you like get it in a way like there is actually a deep meaning to some of these videos
I loved this video I feel like you wanted her to like her so much and she is such a talented person I'm glad most people of our generation can realise that
I’m 32 and completely get the messages in her videos. Respect all music and expression through different kinds of art. My daughter and I both rock out to her music 🥰😘
