UPDATE - I’ve listened to it now about 50 times, I can understand more, it’s not that bad but I still don’t love it. It’s growing on me 😂

Drake has too much nuance and 'inside jokes' for a non fan or especially new listener to catch or understand 😅😂😂. More than half of he's bars are subtle flexes or subliminal to other industry people that only die hard fans and industry insiders will pick up.

In Toronto and big cities in the uk there’s a big Caribbean population due to migration (since the wind rush) and it’s integrated into the way a lot of people talk. That’s why Drake talks like that sometimes he’s been doing it since I started listening to him. People from the uk get it cos it’s very similar here

Lol tell your mom that Drake has never just been Drake in his music. He came out sounding like he was from down south, then he went to the Jamaican accent. Then he starts rapping like he was from the hood in Toronto despite the fact that he talks with the most generic Canadian accent there is. I’ve always been a huge fan of Drake, but in regards to his accent, idk who the real Drake is 😂

Generic Canadian accent? lol drake always had a hood toronto accent. He's raised in weston road and most of his ppl are from jamaican and somali descent. You ppl just dont know who he really is tbh. Mans was leasing a RR at 19 😂

@@BanlieueBaby that the damn point bro lol, it’s hard to tell who he really is because he’s always changing his accent. There are nuff videos of him talking with a generic Canadian accent. I’ve been listening to him since comeback season and I didn’t hear that Toronto accent until years later. Sounded generic in the majority of his old interviews.
