The little boy was her guardian sent to take her to "a place where she's loved." The other children at the end were all "concrete angels," lives that were ended far too soon by child abuse. The tombstones represent all that is left of their lives...concrete angels.
The little boy was dead too. He came to help her through her last day and night of hell on earth. He took her to paradise with the other children who died from abuse. This song shreds my heart to pieces because it seems like lately their are so many little kids missing, murdered by their parents, starved to death, kept in cages or basements. This has to stop happening to the babies. 😢😢
All those babies were concrete angels themselves there to meet her little spirit with the love she didn't get on earth. I was an adult and child protective services worker in Alabama for 25 years. The things I saw will never be erased from my mind and I still have bad dreams about them. The teachers are our first line of defense and they are mandated by law, as are we, to report abuse, neglect and exploitation. Her life could have been saved if her teacher had reported. 😢. Thank you for your sweet reaction of a real mother. 🎉🎉❤❤
Seeing the teacher see the bruises and know they can only be from one thing but opt to ignore it, always fills me with fury, because I know it happens every day in real life. People ignore the bruises. They ignore the red flags.
New sub ❤. I feel ya momma. This song gets me ugly crying every time. The parts about the teachers and neighbors ignoring abuse happen more often than people realize. I was lucky, I had one family in my neighborhood who may not have called anyone when they heard the screaming, but they did the best they could to show me that someone did love me. They'd have me over for dinner, and the daughters would bring me over to do my hair. I tried my darnest to get the oldest sister to give me an afro like hers, lol. She had to explain that my hair wouldn't do like hers, lol. Angela and family, thank you ❤!
This is a very sad song about child abuse. The Mom understands the song. I don't think her son understands the song. Country music is wonderful. They tell stories that people can relate to.
I think it must be generational. My wife and I were both put off when we saw him smiling near the end when it would be the last thing you would do if you absolutely. Understood what you were seeing and what you were learning. I'm extremely worried that the attitude of people of his generation may not be able to be affected by reality because of the amount of input they get. From things like video games et cetera. They inadvertently end up becoming unable to understand pain of others. I suppose to pain that they themselves feel.
This is a true story about Martina McBride's niece. Her niece Angela died from child abuse at the hands of Martina's sister. The headstone you see in the video is the real headstone of her niece Angela.
The song was written in remembrance of Martina McBride's niece who died at the hands of Martina's sister. She writes many songs about domestic violence and has gotten deeply involved in helping victims of domestic violence.
Country is the Truth. The good, the bad, the ugly. Family, Faith, Positivity. Reactors, such as you, are discovering a enjoying Country for this reason. And, for Mom, Country is the new R&B - Drake White - Making Me Look Good Again! If a song doesn’t have a message, Martina won’t record. Y’all would enjoy - God’s Will
He was her angel , he knew what was going to happen . If ya look at him coming to her when she was at the picnic table , she was alone , when she was talking with her, at the window her room was lit his was dark , her mom didn't see him because only the the girl could see him
she was abused, and killed by her mother, the boy was an angel sent as a friend to bring her to a place where they was no pain and suffering, those childrens were angels at the end
Thank you for the reaction. It is a hard watch. I agree I would just want to take them baby’s and show them the way it’s supposed to be with a home of love. 😢😢😢❤❤❤❤
The children all went to heaven where they're loved. Imagine if the teacher would have done what she should of. That little boy was her angel. Try Independence day. Or This one's for the girls. You keep doing what you're doing. People need that
There's another great song by Mary J Blige and Ludacris that tells a similar story a couple different stories in a way that hits no matter how many times. Runaway Love
Angela Carter was Martina's niece, who died at Martina' sister's hands. She was 7 years old. Here's another one by Martina called Independence Day. Tidbit of info: When Martina sings near the burning house, she knew that they only had one chance to get that shot, so she continued singing, even though her back got scorched from the heat. They only found out, when Martina finished that shot and told them. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4VPpAZ9_qAw.html You should listen to Alyssa Lies by Jason Michael Carroll. Another true story. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nLh5vbBLpxI.html
All those babies were killed by their parents, the little boy at her school was her guardian angel sent down to bring her back to Heaven, where she got to meet all the other kids just like her.
This was based on the true story of Martina McBride's niece being killed by her mother, Martina's sister. So tragic. I don't know how she can get through the song without crying a river.
The little boy was an angel waiting to take the little girl and the other kids at the end of the video, they were all kids that were killed through domestic violence. Back in the 60's and 70's when I was growing up, unless you were put in the hospital or killed, it was considered a family matter. CPS was almost unheard of; we kids didn't have any rights. I'm in my mid 60's and the oldest of five, we were both physically and mentally abuse, but my brother's and I were strong enough to break the pattern, none of us abused our kids in any way shape or form.
You want positively and some country blues listen to some chris Stapleton!!! He sang the National Anthem at the superbowl about a month ago... react to that!!!!!
Her sister killed her niece with child abuse. The name on the grave stone is her niece’s name. All proceeds of the song went to preventing further child abuse.
According to McBride, this is a true story based on her niece who was abused by her mother (McBride's sister) and killed at the young age of 7. The nieces name is on the head stone.
This is why I say you see something hear something say something you may be the childrens only voice and hope I was abused in the foster home I grew up in by my foster dad and 2foster uncles and they didn't do anything
