Our last few days in Canada before heading back to Korea were incredibly fun and eventful, but also incredibly emotional.
During those last few days in Canada, we did a lot of grocery shopping, and share a few groceries that are pretty cheap in Canada, but really expensive in Korea. As you'll also see, the toughest part of being an international couple (for us) is that one partner is not able to see his or her family for an extended period of time, which is extremely difficult. I (Sarah) am still trying to adjust after returning to Korea.

In fact, I vividely remember my mum made that meatball in my childhood a lot. My sister's favourite side dish. I recall it was a premade microwave food wrapped in a box? Like 3분 카레. Oh I miss the time ^^

sarah.. i know how hard it is.. I lived in Australia apart from my family and i haven’t been seen my family for almost 3 years now. I have been homesick for couple months now and it hits me to seeing you crying. Hope you have adjusting well back in Korea with your little family (Kyuho, Bemoo, stray cats), Also Kyuho fam as well. 1달이라는 시간이 그렇게 길지 않지만 꿀같고 꿈같은 시간을 보내고 오신것 같아 다행이에요. 세라님 눈물 보니까 저도 맘이 안좋네요. 물론 가족들을 떠나 다시 일상으로 돌아오는데 시간이 걸리겠지만 다시 정신없이 살다보면 금방 내년 여름이 올거예요. 그때까지 두분이서 소소하게 행복하게 지내시길 바래요!

Glad you made it home safe. It is bittersweet to leave family behind to go home in a different part of the world. So much happens while we are away that we miss. Time is not kind that way. Glad you left those parts in. It seems like you had a great trip . Thanks for sharing it with us!

저도 독일에 살고 있어 한국에 안간지 거진 2년에서 3년 되어가는데 올해만큼 한국을 진짜 가고싶은 마음이 가득한건 처음인거 같네요. 눈물을 흘리는 사라님을 보면서 너무 공감되고 저도 덩달아 눈물을 훔치게 되었네요.. 한국에서 다시 1년 열심히 건강히 지내시고 내년을 기약하시길 바라며 항상 응원합니다!

i see my family every 2-2.5 years if im lucky. seeing u cry made me cry so much. i remember seeing my family last year at christmas. first time spending the holiday together in five years. they finally got to meet my SO but one week was too short. cried like a baby at the airport. thanks for sharing this side of things. its reassuring knowing im not the only one who goes through this.

I like Kuyho's reaction to butter on pancakes. I usually use real butter and Sarah's mom amount of butter is a good size! Also butter > margarine anyways.. healthier

I know the feeling, when it's time to say goodbye to the family after a vacation. I'm currently in Norway visiting my dearest ones, but I'm gonna be in Germany in 5 days. It's so heartbreaking every time ... I hate this feeling...

Sarah, I know how hard it is when the time to go to the "other home" comes. I really feel for you, I got teary eyes watching you. I am not as lucky as I don't get the chance to go home once a year. We are trying to go once every three years, but there was a time I did not go home to visit my family for seven years. It is a bitter sweet trade to be an International couple to have two families live the opposite side of the world. Hwaiting!!

I moved to Ohio from British Columbia 17 years ago. Haven't been home in 10.5 years. I miss my family like crazy. We can't afford to go home with our large family. You are very blessed to be able to go yearly and for so long.

Sarah, my heart broke when you were crying saying good-bye to your family. I hope, your family could come to see you in Korea. Kyuho- "We're taking this back though" Sarah's Mom "I know." Sarah- laughs "how rude." Kyuho- "If you want, to try, then maybe we should get some more." lol I feel you Kyuho, I would feel the same way about my snacks that's hard to get.

This hit home for me and I found myself getting teary eyed watching your video. I don't live as far away from my family as you do, but I do live on the other side of the country from them and only get to see my family in NS once a year for about a week. The goodbyes at the airport are never easy.

Avacados are sometimes 1 for a 1$ even in California, where we grow them...lol. Its expensive even here, so I cant even imagine how much it is in places like Canada.

I guess it’s just the feeling of knowing you’re only a couple hours train ride away if you want to see them. Especially if there’s an emergency...that’s what scares me. A 20+ plane ride away is not so affordable/attainable whenever you want/need to see family 😞

In Ohio you can watermelon for 2.99. Strawberries can be 1.34 and avacodos are 88 cents.

How could you go to Mic Mac Tavern and not get potato skins or lemon pepper haddock! The best! Again, these videos make me super nostalgic. I only get back home to Halifax to see my family, maybe once every three years? I feel ya though. Every time I go home, it's hard to leave. This video made me homesick, for sure.

Sarah I get what you feel when you leave your parents. I remember crying by myself when I was on the way back home. It was totally embarrassing cuz I cried before the body searching thing and I was waiting in line. LOL. Anyways hope Kyuho cheered you up well. Beemo too! today is my last day of a monthlong holiday... back to work tomorrow 😞 my family in nz came to stay with me in sydney. it was originally meant to be just my parents but then my mum asked my grandmother to join us. when my aunty from perth heard my grandmother was coming she decided to come too. then my mum's 2 other sisters got FOMO and decided to come 😂 one of my cousins from brisbane came for a couple of days to see her mum too. most of them were here for only a week and a half but my mum stayed the rest of the month. so i had a whole month of home cooked meals as can be verified by my bathroom scales 😬 i dropped her off at the airport this morning. and you're right, it doesn't get easier 😢

Oh sarah, i teared up too watching you cried :') i really understand that feeling, i lived far from my parents for six years bcs of university and it was really never gets easier to say goodbye and adjusting everytime i need to go. And right now i'm missing my sister so much bcs she's an international couple too, living in California, while my family in Indonesia. Wish you adjust well and fast sarah!!! 💜

Very sad to say good-bye ~ I can empathize. I lived in Korea for six years and always struggled saying good-bye to my grandparents (a year does feel like a looong time). 😪❤ I hope your sadness eases over the next while. Those cookies (on a totally different topic!) look so good - maybe for Kyuho's next episode of Kyuho's Ugly Kitchen, he could share your mom's recipe and make them?! 🍪😁

I've been on the side of those who stay back. the airport goodbyes suck so much. the ride back home is a mix of tears and weird jokes to lighten the mood. but eventually we all get back to the new normal I admire those who have the courage, strength, resiliency and ability to emigrate an build life for themselves elsewhere. i love traveling, I have no problem of being away 50% of the time... but I can't think of emigrating

I really understand how you were feeling except mine was the opposite. I went to South Korea to see my boyfriend and when I left I was balling my eyes out in the airport security check and I was embarrassed but couldn’t help it. International relationships are really hard. I’m so happy you had a wonderful time with your family though. Don’t worry! Omg! New video!! Yay!! I cried too when y’all started packing! Doesn’t Costco Korea have Ritz Crackers and cheese crackers n American candies? Guess its just cheaper in Canada! If you two had a cat carrier would you take Bemo out on excursions?

They do have the cheese Ritz crackers in Korea, BUT the recipe isn’t the same-they taste totally different. There’s more sugar added to them, so I don’t like em’ 😐 Beemo HATES being taken outside, so we won’t put him through that stress-he gets terribly upset~

i was just like who is MINHO!? kk also i wanted to say in london they have soooooo many foods labeled "Korean style" that i know isn't korean style at all! it really Pee's me off!! they know korea/ korean food has a lot of interest right now so many food brands as well as starbucks type coffee shops are jumping on the korean food band wagon! at least get it right! korea has so many delicious foods and then we have western countries chucking the word korean on anything TT

We’d never be able to make a living there unfortunately, so we will not be moving to N.S-the job market is really terrible. Our future goal is to visit twice a year-once in the summer, and once for Christmas ^^
