The kids aren't supposed to see anyone touching the elf or touch it themselves because it loses it's magic. So by that logic, mom couldn't touch the elf either ;) i.e mom can't touch the elf in front of the kids.

an elf on the shelf is a holiday tradition if you believe in Santa! They move around and hide different places to watch you to see if you are good or bad!

It’s a tradition for little kids, where parents/older siblings hide it as a way for it to “watch” the kids and make them behave for Santa, I believe the myth goes that they watch and report back to Santa every night when you’re asleep.

I'd probably have a heart attack if I had an Elf On The Shelf. The reason why is because I'd be staring at it for a few minutes and then I'll be spinning a soy sauce bottle near a microwave, which means my heart attack would start if I stopped spinning the soy sauce bottle.

All you need to do to drink coffee is move the elf sprinkle cinnamon on it put it on a plate sprinkle cinnamon on it put it in a blanket rather than sorry later and drink coffee
