In Germany after explosion of a federal archive storage chamber it is forbidden to store celluloid films for a long time. Only the Federal Archives have a license to store celluloid films for copy in larger quantities in a new build special bunker facility . After the successful copy (digital or safety-analog) of celluloid films, films must be destroyd in a special disposal facility for explosives. In Germany over 70000 rolls of this highly unstable and explosive material were disposed after the explosion of a federal archive storage chamber .Many films, are also disposed of without copying them.
