Its difficult to say for certain where the issue occurred. We do a 100% laser alignment on every lens at the factory to check the alignment of the lenses before they are boxed. We then pull a small sample set from shipments when they arrive in the USA and do a visual tests on them. Assuming that passes then they ship to customers. It would be nice to do a laser alignment in our USA facility as well but we are not currently setup for that, it would be a pretty massive undertaking. It would also not be a good use of cash, we have a very low defect rate on the lenses. Shipping in containers across an ocean is typically pretty smooth compared to what the fine people at fedex and UPS are capable of. We see the most damage shipping from our warehouse to customers and its not even close. That applies to all the products we sell, not just Moment brand. Modern lenses have multiple pieces of glass in them and they have to be aligned very close to perfect or you will start to see issues. That applies to any high quality lens. If you drop it a few times on a hard floor then its anyone's guess how the glass will shift. If anyone is having an issue with a Moment lens then please reach out to our support team and we will help out in every way we can.
You can tell where moment’s focus is: and it’s not their lenses. I’d say we probably won’t see any additional lenses from here on out. The T series might be the last lenses they make.
@@Pterodactyl-kn3ve Its an interesting theory but entirely incorrect. We are actually doubling down on mobile lens development with some really big projects. We think that the market will drastically expand in the coming years.
Totally disagree on your comment recommending companies cherry-pick gear they send to reviewers. I want to see what the manufacturers are likely to send to customers.
The lens that was sent for this video was one that I took directly from the warehouse during a routine QC inspection. It was not cherry picked in any, even if we wanted to cherry pick lenses there just isn't time for things like that.

Your advice to companies sending stuff out definitely applies to me as well. Not that I need the most expensive wines, but make sure they're well made. For the most part I do get that, but every once in a while I'll get a crappy wine :)
Any idea if Smallrig will release a new adapater that fits the t-mount plates for the Brandon Li edition so we can use the VND as the the adapter that comes with the Li edition cannot be used on the T-Mount plate?
I don’t. I need to inquire about that. It seems strange that they only make it for the M mount considering those lenses don’t actually work with the phone.
I’ve asked that question to @SmallRig both privately and publicly and they have not answered. You shouldn’t have to change back to the M series plate to use the filters.
So now that upgraded moment T series 58mm tele lens goes to the top 3 best telephoto lenses for smartphones, Beastgrip and Reeflex, btw no point on adding any lenses to the 5x tele, it does not like lenses at all not even the anamorphics, I tested the anamorphic lenses on the 5x and it still looked horrible, I bet even if you do put that new 58mm tele lens it still wouldn’t work, just saying
None of the current generation of lenses work on the 5x tele. Its just not reasonable to make a single lens that works at 24mm focal length and 120mm focal length. There are some lenses that are considerably larger that are starting to show up that can work on the 5x tele but they are very large and quite heavy. Its not clear at this time if the market will support a lens like that, most customers that want add on lenses for mobile want light weight and compact options.
