I loved it too, man. Shah Rukh Khan as Harry was God level. He showed that no one can touch him... He was so extraordinary. People of india are not ready to accept such a mature n nuanced story n treatment n the pretentious critics took false moral high grounds saying that Anushka's character was not portrayed well n other nonsense stuff about gender equality etc blah blah blah. I don't understand that why people can't understand that films not supposed to be lessons in moral science, ethics, gender equality etc etc. All a film has to do, is to stay true to the world the director creates. That's it. And people like Harry n Sejal are very much real. I can say it because I have seen it with my own eyes for God's sake. So, there's no point complaining. Anyway, I loved the movie n it did quite well overseas. So, it's quite evident who has taste n who got the movie while others can just whine n diss the movie but truth remains that they got a shitty taste if they can't appreciate it. Simple.

The story is there but its up to the person to see it.I saw it without those scenes. Its there in Harry's eyes..if you want you will see it. Having said that I believe all the deleted scenes should be there so everyone could see and understand what is beneath.

I mean specific details. Like why the panic attacks, what was the event that prompted him to leave home in the middle of the night? What broke him so that he thought he was unworthy of any kind of meaningful relationship with people? There are hints there in the main story, but none of them lead anywhere. Just left like smoking guns.

Yes coz film is not just about him you can not put all this in the film;) Thats why hints . What I personally think the heartbreak(remember he mentions true love on seaside scene) made him leave India and try to establish himself in Canada. And obviously it did not work..immigration is a tricky thing some get lucky some not..etc.. So basically when he wakes up and sees Sejal next to him(keep in mind he already started to fall for her..in romantic why not sexual like with western women)..all the memories of the homeland ,heartbreaking he thought he got rid off came flooding back. I personally fine with hints ..coz all those scenes would add to the length and veer off of the main idea. But I wish subtitles were better ..like in the scene with his friend before he goes to India ..he says "I was afraid of stealing my heart and making me feel like home". The stealing heart bit was not in subtitles. T K definitely. This movie could have been similar to Tamasha in the sense where you see scenes like these and see SRK's pain as Harry as a whole. I thought they'd make him a little more complex like they did with Ranbir in Tamasha. SRK was amazing, but he kinda had an underwritten character. Some flashbacks would have been better. I loved the scene where he has the panic attack / breaks down because it was like Ranbir coming to Deepika's house and then breaking down on her due to his split personality. They had that sort of angle for SRK before his entire self discovery portion, but they didn't really go into it

@@TKgeek The reason he left home was to pursue a job as a singer which he tells before Radha Song.. The reason he has panic attacks is because he is lonely... His parents and loved ones are all far away and since he has run away from home without informing anyone and he cant find courage to return back.. Also he has found no one in europe in whom he has actually find true love... Now he keeps himself sane by repeating his mom's words and expressions which he saw as a child... Note when he starts falling in love with sejal these outbursts stop

There was nothing wrong with marketing strategy. But editing...editing was done as if movie would be released at some international festival, I mean it fits western mentality perfectly....but for India..where people got used to those long emotional dialogues and etc.....and without them they are like blind and can not even see what is story about.....

With the marketing what I meant was things like, having an event for each song they released during promotions, in my opinion when you have such strong songs, you just release the whole audio album. No need at all for all the suspense. What has happened due to this poor marketing strategy is that beautiful music is lost unappreciated. Also there is something called overexposure. Sometimes less is much much more and you let the work speak for itself.
