I pinch my biscuits off like that. I mix my dough in a bowl and then place in a container of flour because I don't make biscuits as much as I used to. My Mama kept a biscuit bowl full of flour like that. She could make the best biscuits. My grandma made good biscuits too. They both had lots of kids to feed.

You can also use butter instead of shortening, use a fork instead of your hands. Both methods are good.

You momma a sweet heart she reminds me of my momma cherish every moment with her. I make these biscuits well a little differently. My mamma taught me how to make them years back in 8Os when I was a teenager people always ask how I make them. We made them all the time for our big family I'm trying to teach my sons. now.

I agree with Mama. I was raised using a metal pan. Grandmother always made a pan of cathead biscuits every morning. I sure do miss her.
