It took me a little bit to understand that she was making fideo. If I may, mamma. At the grocery store in the Hispanic food aisle, you’ll see 7 ounce packages of small pasta - shells, stars, alphabet, etc. THOSE, smaller shaped pastas are what you use to make fideo. Props for toasting the pasta. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Vermicelli/Fideo she tried I knew what she was doing but you’re right those big noodles aren’t it my family is black/brown I put hamburger meat and potatoes in my Fideo with that cumin and garlic combination it’s amazing
You need some onion in there and don't overcook the noodles so there's more broth like a soup and then it will be 👌 and maybe use different noodles lol like the little abc or star ones
She never uses seasoning 😂 Not even salt & pepper. I've only seen her do it once! When making a recipe someone sent in to her that actually told her in the recipe to add it! How can anyone not love this woman!?!? 🤗
I know exactly what Momma is talking about. Elbow noodles, whole tomatoes, some people add chopped onions boil everything together. My great grandmother and great great aunt would make that for me when I was little when I didn't feel good.
We don't boil the tomatoes we cook the elbows and add diced tomatoes from a can. One of my grandma and mom's favorite. My kids love it too I add seasoning to mine but not my kids.
@@gerald4535 Bouillon is broth without water. You add bouillon to water to create broth. I have been cooking professionally for 15 years and this has been my experience, but Google can give you more detailed information. Hope this helps✌️
@Yaya58718 I think she was meant to use tomato sauce and shell pasta but maybe I'm confused. We add meat usually ground beef to ours and it's another of my kids favorite. Oh and I definitely season mine lol
I like watching the videos because the relationship between the mom and son reminds me of the one I had with my mom. I'm a teacher in AZ now, but I grew up in Augusta, Ga. I miss my "Mamma"!!
@@MariJefa88 yes that's what my wife has always called it, just sopa tho.. Browned fideo, water, tomato sauce, cumin and garlic. She has her mother's molcajete so fresh garlic and comino. We eat it with tortillas, like bread with soup..lol its always been a family favorite.
When you stir fry your noodles add your chicken bullion, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano and cumin. Mix then add the tomato sauce mix then water. Put more water next time and let it boil to cook add salt for taste. Once done you should make a side of canned pinto beans mashed or whole and add then when you plate your soup in the same bowl, put some shredded cheese or queso fresco and eat it with a quesadilla or cheese/chicken taquito. Delicious! You did great!
Mamma so close but still so way off & faraway. Use small pasta, tomato sauce or tomato paste, salt, pepper, onions. Congrats on the toasting of the pasta.

Penne pasta is typically not used in Mexican cuisine but Tomatoes are literally native to Mexico. And, Fideo soup, which consists of toasted short spaghetti thin noodles is very popular in Mexico. So has the right idea but not exactly the delivery. The finished result should have the consistency of a soup not a sauce.

Fideo or the little pasta shells, tomato sauce or better yet stew tomatoes and onions. Once the tomatoes and onions are stewed throw them in a blender for couple minutes along with chicken bouillon to your liking. Disfruta! Love the effort you are making.

Technically it's close 👍🏽. The tomato soup is new for me. Good job frying up the pasta. I like mine a deep golden brown 😋. Some onion powder, garlic powder and some knorr (chicken bullion) would kick that up a notch. I like to add large pieces of onion and tomato. Once in awhile carrot slices.

Knorrs caldo de pollo It's on the hispanic iowa in the grocery tomato one as well Add a bit of chopped onions and garlic . Sub the big Campbell's for tomato sauce or paste.
My mama made something similar..same noodles, broth and tomato soup but she would brown some ground beef and add some american cheese..it was one of the kids' favorite meals!
