@@TurdInternational cuz sana is good with higher notes but momo is not. so the high notes/tone that momo sings should've been given to sana and the lower notes that sana got should've been given to momo
Yeah, her voice hasn't changed. The issue is the songs are in too high of a key for where her natural voice sits. In Moonlight Sunrise, she is singing falsetto - so she's not forcing herself to use a mixed/chest voice to sing high (her signature nasal sound). The best example of her voice range is Scientist by far. She sounds great there, especially the bridge section.
That's a problem if your not too high range is like 7 notes of the most basic octave that most women can sing with ease....vocalists suppose to work on their vocals and they can actually improve with taking notes out of their range without sounding strained? nasal, breathy and dying. Ordinary people do not really have to do it, unless they want. Professional singers?....Kinda need it.
@@viktoria8189 thing is she is an idol, not a professional singer, so she doesnt need to excel in vocals, as long as she can sound decent she can be amazing in other areas like dancing where shes really good and rap where she has potential
@@deadblocko she doesn't sound decent most of the time. She is not a singer? Do not give her parts at all then, ok, she can be a back up dancer, dunno what else to say to it. With all the resources their company has, I am absolutely amazed how most of the Twice members are still on the level of their vocals they had in 16th show.
@@viktoria8189 Damn you are as bright as a broken light bulb please stop being a Once if you are I'm sure Twice would rather have fans rather then detractors like you
I wish she’d use that voice always. Like seriously I don’t get why they ask her to change her voice.... 😐hee scientist voice was so damn good and it is still is rn but scientist is just 💗
I'm not a vocal coach but they just started making her use a lower tone in the songs because with high jokes she can easly just sing badly and they started making her use falsetto
i cant be the only one who has always liked momos singing😢 i think it hasnt really changed besides them giving her notes in her range now. the higher notes matched the vibes then and the deeper ones match now. her voice is unique and maked her stand out in twice. i love that every member has unique abilities that somehow unite in such a uniform way
momo doesn’t have a “fake voice” or a “real voice” that JYP supposedly won’t let her use. it’s just that the parts you claim are her “fake voice” are just her straining to hit notes. she sounds less strained when she’s hitting lower notes. momo is not the best vocalist ever and it’s time that onces just accept that and not make excuses for her, she’s still an amazing and talented idol
@@orakimchi3577 i highly doubt that a trained professional vocal coach would advise momo to sing in this strained/damaging manner rather than a natural sounding comfortable way. if momo could easily hit those high notes she would, but she can’t.
Why is so many comments hating on her? I think she sounds good both ways. And she will keep getting better the more she is in the Kpop industry. Don't hate on her. She tries her best and I bet she is better than all of you...soooooo. Thanks! (not hate)
i don’t think it’s a real voice so much as it is singing in a key she’s comfortable with and improving with singing either way she still sounds great. you can really tell she’s improved vocally since feel special and particularly in this comeback
I feel like some of Twice members have so much more potential than what their concepts allow them to showcase. Momo would be a great rapper. She showed in sixteen that she has great flow. Her singing and confidence could have also been better the problem is that Twice's songs are in a very high key (even for someone like Nayeon), so Momo has to force her voice and sing in a nasal tone to reach some notes. Which explains the (usually) bad live performances from her side. Chaeyoung also has so much more potential. She seems very creative and she seems like she would have some very unique flow as a rapper. I hope we can see more of them in potential solo releases.
@@mfzrsln1782 Momo has delivery, flow dictation and speed What about It? You're the first who didn't agree with that, maybe you are joking or just a troll I wouldn't be surprised, twice has a lot of haters
In moonlight sunrise, her voice killed me literally, she slayed, and it's my fav part in moonlight sunrise, and we can see that she's working pretty well with her vocals
Tbh I think better examples of Momo's less nasal and more on her comfortable range are Scientist, Goodbye (cover) and Move (cover), even if those aren't as deep as during Sixteen, she seems much more comfortable during those than in, say, more & more, which was her worst era because of all the negative backlash she faced, making her so afraid of singing in public that she was terrified during scientist's encore, and she kept on practicing her lines in the background
it's funny that everyone's most favorite performance of Momo is in Scientist where she didn't even sing or rapped she just talked her lyrics to the rhythm because she kept consistently failing her parts before. Her voice is not memorable at all and producers try new voice of Momo every damn song because even they have no idea what her voice is good at. Now before some dimwitted Momo fan replies to me: I know, i know, you like her voice because you got a crush on her at some point in time for whatever reason, i'm just stating the facts as someone who is neutral to her, you don't have to lecture me about Momo's skills. She is a great dancer and i adore her for getting most dance brakes in songs but thats the only thing i can remember her for.
@@q_taipan That's a little subjective, I think... I disagree, it is a SINGING part, just low, but TWICE's songs are mostly high, which favors ranges like Nayeon's (of course, I'm not saying they gift her the parts, she earns it performing them well) and make others disadvantaged (in this case, Momo). Yes, she failed some parts before, first and foremost because JYP didn't give TWICE members a proper vocal training (or so I think), especially Momo as she is a dancer who lacks a developed technique and is very nasal. However, saying "her voice is not memorable" or implying that people only like her voice for having a crush on her is INCREDIBLY wrong. Yes, she is not what you would call a singer and has TONS to improve, but I personally like her voice color, and she's not even my bias or TWICE my fav group (love them tho) Which leads me to say: if you only remember her for her dancing, that's great, and being neutral to her is great, but I don't think you are completely neutral for her singing skills, so I don't know what's the point of entering this vid or answering someone just to spread negativity about that idol
She still has the same general “nasally” tone, but, unlike in songs like Alcohol Free (where I will say the higher note was a bit grating to me), I feel like they’re using her voice in songs so much better for her now. More flattering. 🤩
Guys pls understand that she always sings in her real voice it's just the register in which she sings. She sounds more nasal in upper register but it's still her real voice
I love momo’s real voice and I think because it’s naturally more sultry and seductive, they are finally letting her use it more because they in their mature era. And I’m happy because I’m someone who never likes nasally squeaky voices.
@@jueunslay the way she sings in moonlight sunrise is seductive such as the song is more about doing something age appropriate with the opposite gender
Momo's singing range was in Scientist. Her voice was good during Sixteen too. But JYP forced TWICE to sing super high notes, that even Nayeon struggles sometimes. And I forgot if this was in More & More era, where Momo said that she really want to sing in low range. More & More era was a difficult time for Momo too, since she was heavily bashed by K-netz and other Kpop fandoms.
Yea it’s the same! They’re just using her voice in the correct places and her voice has matured. But still Momo. She’s Japanese! They have those high pitch tones
Momo is my fcking bias, i discover her since the release of Moolight Sunrise, you know the part when she is behind the curtains and say a sentance with a VOICEEEEEEE THAT IS INSANE, i just fell in love of her, "I guarantee I got ya" and her face, her perfect face insane. lol
wtf do you mean by real voice? I swear people just be making things up for no damn reason. Momo has a naturally nasal tone. In Moonlight Sunrise she sounds different because she’s singing in falsetto so it’s more smooth. Her chest voice however like I said is very nasally which is signature to her sound naturally!!
it sounds so much better, just because it isnt forced! it sounds natural and her real voice has a really unique quality to it, i think. i|m glad she can finally sing how she prefers it.
It's not a fake voice- she is not comfortable in higher ranges and compensates with nasality. She's much more comfortable in lower ranges and that's when you all come out say it's her "real voice" ignoring the nasal twinge that is still there, even lower. I want her to have more lines where she's comfortable, but she's never "putting it on" when she's cutesy. That's what she sounds like. It's hard enough for her and even though these things are full of live and good intentions, it's also kind of cruel.
In a choir, the females are typically either alto, mezzo, or soprano (in order from lowest to highest). We are divided into different sections because some people have naturally lower voices and some have naturally higher voices. Kpop needs to stop making deep voices seem like voices with bad vocal range. They aren’t. They have the same natural vocal range, just a few notes deeper. My choir director would not make an alto sing a high soprano part, and would not make a soprano sing a low alto part. Plus that would kill my voice 💀
As a soprano, it was harder for me to hit the lower notes, but I worked on my range and was able to do it. Momo actually has a pretty good range and can slide through both. Naturally, when hearing her sing on vlives, she goes towards the upper register which shows that she's actually a soprano (I'd say a solid second soprano).
During Sixteen she was one of the better Twice Vocalists and then it changed . . . Now she is sounding strong again, I like to gaslight myself and say she is a great vocalist, though her technique and vocal chords are very damaged and she needs time to really show improvement again. . .
A única diferença é que ela tá apenas cantando numa faixa vocal confortável. Eu simplesmente detesto quando o pessoal fala "a voz verdadeira" da Momo sendo que as duas "vozes" são a voz dela.
ah it's quite noticable how she used her nose as the source of the vocal whereas for now she's using her chest instead. Does it make sense? sorry english is not my first language haha
There’s nearly no difference in these two. In you want to hear her real voice, she uses it in ‘Scientist.’ Same with Sixteen performances. Hopefully she’ll get to use it again sometime because she sounds great.
I think she sounds better now since she suits a more deeper voice. When you listen to their old songs you can tell that she was putting in the cute voice. I hate how they make our idols act or sing cutely when actual fans love them for who they are.
So many people say that they don’t like her voice bc it’s nasally But honestly I think her voice is the most unique one in twice and for some reason it’s very satisfying to hear for me
Who really knows about vocal technique, knows what actually happened here. She did not fake her voice, nor was it taken to the extreme in any video. She just started to experiment with her range and vocal techniques
i think they’re prepping her to be the lead rapper in the subunit misamo thats why shes taking some rapping part recently. and it actually suits her more
