This is so accurate, and if I eat too much my mum will be saying "God forbid, I pray they will not use food to trick you and carry you away. I wonder what you'll do if you're starving and have nothing to eat"
I was invited to eat with a very lovely family from Nigeria whom had 3children. At the table the mother began serving the plates. Mountains of rice with plantains and spicy fish.. I politely refused such a large plate and asked for less rice. When I looked up all three kids looked as if death was about to come. Fear over came me. The Mother turned slowly and looked me in the eyes... at that moment I knew.......😥😰😱
... I knew never to make such suggestions again... "not to worry" she said. She took into account I was from the States and had no table manors what so ever. I had lots to learn.
I went to a birthday party of my coworker's daughter. My coworker is Nigerian and she piled food on my plate like I had never seen. Watching the other guests clean their plates I knew I had quite a bit of eating to do. So much Nigerian fried rice and jollof rice!!!
I used to clean house for this wealthy, but fresh off the boat African family from Senegal. The husband was handsome and professional. The wife was lovely, and sweet and always wore the traditional clothing with a head covering.. The children were Cute and well behaved, if not a bit shy. Let me tell you...I was a little worried about what the lunch would be because I've never had any kind of African food, and god forbid I disrespect her by not liking it!! I'd be so embarrassed and feel very uncultured. Well, guess what?! It was FANTASTIC!! She made these small meatballs in this sweet lovely sauce and laid it over some kind of rice and then drowned it in the sauce. It was freaking delicious! A very lovely family indeed! And a great meal!!

😁always accurate, this is the drama in African home with our mothers. As for the fathers if you eat little he will say you are not hungry so be there ...but if you eat plenty they would react just like Bobo's mum did
I am 14 and decided I was going to start a weight loss mission. I started eating really little. My Nigerian mother threatened that if I get ulcer she would not pay any hospital bills instead she would beat me on top sef. I just had to forfeit after i started seeing ulcer symptoms.
I hope that you're eating the right amount of food and not too small so that you don't end up with an eating disorder.Just make sure to eat good food in the right portions not to big and not to small and good luck with your weight loss journey :)
you are too too young for diet give it 7 years more ...for now eat well and let your body get enough for the next growth phase of boobs,butt,periods etc
Workout, keep portions in control and you'll be okay. Avoid huge calorie deficits. Ulcers don't form unless you're eating acidic foods, taking too many pain medications or eating highly salted meats. You'll be okay. :) ...At your age I recommend Blogilates as she is fun and they are good workouts. MadFit has good workouts too!

Omo...Bobo doesn't care oh, along as there's food on his table. Survival of the fittest needs a "strong mind and a tight heart". Bobo please remain the food for me too oh and keep my own juice! Remember "man shall not live by bread alone". No stress.

Oh my... African home is just a happy place. Same with me. If I eat small, my mom and dad will behave as if am planning a serial anorexic lifestyle. If I eat big, they will descend on me and say things like: "you want to be a pig's daughter" or "you want to be as big as the water cistern outside". If I complained about the way they judge my food quantity, my father will lower his spectacle and say; "Moderation is the key".
My grandmother used to make us all have a “bed snack”. Graham crackers and peanut butter with milk, a half of a sandwich and juice, a bowl of cereal, buttered rice and a glass of ginger ale something about 300 calories. As if we’d starve before breakfast 😂
