When I was pregnant with my 4th child I didn’t even know I was in labor. I could feel my belly tightening and relaxing all day. But I had been feeling that for the past week. And I feel contractions for the week before with the previous pregnancies. I had cleaned my house and mowed the grass and washed 3 loads of laundry. Because my husband was working and I wanted to go out for a special dinner date before the baby was born. We were standing in the restaurant waiting to be seated. And my water broke. No one even saw it happen. I grabbed my husband’s arm and said we have to go, my water just broke!!! And he looked down and apologized to the Hostess and handed her a $20 and told her my water just broke and we headed home. I texted my sister who was babysitting for us and I told her to grab my hospital bag. She thought I was joking. As soon as the water broke my contractions intensified. I texted the hospital to tell them we would be pulling in the emergency entrance in 8 minutes have a wheelchair ready and waiting. We got to the hospital. And the attendant was there with the wheelchair. As soon as I stood up outside of the car. I said oh nooooo the baby is coming out right now. I lifted the front of my dress to show her my underwear was sagging. She realized I knew what I was saying and they rushed me in. The attendant told my husband to give her the keys she would park the car. They put me in a OB room. And as my husband was helping me up on the table. The Dr was going to help me with my undies and she saw the baby head was completely out. She cut the undies and 45 seconds later my son was born. The Doctor only had time to slip on gloves. My husband was washing his hands as our son was born, the wash basin was literally less than an arms length away. He cut the umbilical cord. The Doctor stitched me up and 20 minutes later my sister laughed asking me if they were sending me home to wait. And I said nope her nephew was in a bassinet next to me and we were being wheeled into my hospital room. She screamed in excitement. We hadn’t ate anything. So my husband went back down to Emergency entrance and got the car keys. And the attendant said oh it must not have been as emergent as we thought. And as he took the keys he said yes it was the baby and his wife are in our room and he needs to get to McDonalds before they close. Pretty much every ER employee came by to see our baby and my parents waited until the morning to come see us. They lived almost 4 hours away and my ILS all came that night. They released us from the hospital the second afternoon. It was wonderful I came home to a clean house and no dirty laundry. My sister cleaned up everything that was messed up after we left the house. My son’s birthday is December 3rd 1991. He was born at 6:20pm and was 6 lbs 9 oz and was 18 inches long. With strawberry blonde hair and a little beauty mark on his left cheek.
