Mon Pays (My Country) was composed by Québécois songwriter Gilles Vigneault in 1964. The song expresses the natural beauty and praises the special characteristics of the composer's Québec homeland, and is seen by many people as declaring the free spirit of the province.
This version was sung by Pavel Zhouravfev and the Red Army Choir along with The Québec City Choir at the Quebec City International Festival of Military Bands.

This is not a patriotic song. It says that there is no summer in this province of Quebec. But we Quebecers would like to be a country so we could pay tax income and decide how to use it here instead of sending it to Ottawa and then they send it to other provinces. We want to keep our money here for education, health care services, beaten women, streets, etc.
