We saw the scene with Ali and Mona first. So I know that Mona was the instigator in that scene. Mona just wanted people to believe Ali was still the same bully she always was. Mona never gave Ali a chance to show that she changed. I always found Mona to be annoying.

Leave Mona alone, she's great. Maybe she did do some bad things but it's all because of Alison. If she wasn't such a bitch, Mona would never be tortured and wouldn't do that to girls. Remember that when she started being A she was only torturing Ali, not girls. They didn't. They were just mad that Ali lied to them cuz Ali told them she didn't do anything to Mona. Mona's done a lot more than that though. Running Hanna over with a car, bullying, stalking, blackmailing, almost killing Toby twice, almost killing Emily three times by poisoning her, locking her in a barn and leaving her to die, nearly stabbing Emily to death in the greenhouse, almost killing Spencer; setting Jason's house on fire and trapping Jenna there leaving her to die. She was very ruthless.

I can't be the only person who loves Mona even though she does shit like that. She only does those things because she's freaking scared of Alison hurting her or whatever and I really don't think she's a bad person. She was always a good friend to Hanna and Hanna just left her alone in so many scenes. When Noel broke Mona's heart, Hanna didn't even seem to care about it. Also Mona always defended Hanna from other people saying bad things about her and was there for her. When she kissed Caleb to help the girls find out if Melissa was A and she came back to the kitchen and asked if they already got a message from A, Hanna just lied to her even if she seemed to be in the A thing just as much as the girls. Because of the fact that Mona was A the whole time she obviously knew that they were lying to her. Honestly, I felt so bad for her. She always tried to keep Hanna and be her friend and all she got was lies. Sure, she was A and threatened the girls and almost drove over Hanna with a car and everything but still I can kind of understand her a bit. And in season 6B she is just so sweet and tries to win Hanna back and really tries to be a better person, but I feel like no one ever believes that people can change.
Oh please..... Mona is not a good person just because Alison called her names doesn't justify the actions she did. She had no reason to attack the liars and her BEST FRIEND HER BEST FRIEND that she almost killed all because of what some petty shit. Mona became A because of Ali supposedly "bullying" her but she stopped when Ali disappeared. Then she started again for no reason! She had no motive to attack the girls oh yea I forgot "they stole Hanna from me" which was her doing because she made Alison disappear and sent them A messages and that brought them closer. If you really buy that Mona is scared of Alison thing then Mona is just as manipulative as Alison is. Mona and Alison share the same traits once you think about it. They should be bffs at the end of the day Alison and Mona are my favs next to Hannah. They were both bad people and bitches and made mistake but at the end hey had a huge development. I know people are going to disagree & possibly try to argue with me, Mona was and still is my favourite PLL character, No I haven't forgotten all the crazy/unhinged things that Mona has done, even though Alison didn't do anything physical, words hurt just as much as fists do, I mean physical wounds heal, but you'll always have those inner scars that might dull over time but will never be forgotten, It's hard to say if Alison's cruel words and the way she and the girls ignored Mona, caused Mona to go that crazy, in my opinion Mona and Alison were just as bad as one another, Mona more so because of how extreme she was.

I really don’t know who’s side we’re supposed to be on. Yeah, Mona is crazy and she twisted things around to make it look like Ali attacked her for no reason, but Ali still lied to the girls and I just don't trust her, she hasn't changed one bit.

The girls seem to be blind when it comes to her (except for Hanna), but all she does is lie and manipulate and still treats people like shit. She isn't sorry for how she has treated people and the only person she has apologized to is Paige because EMILY TOLD HER TO. She bullied ALL of the girls, she made fun of Emily for liking girls and made her believe that her feelings for her weren't real, she encouraged Hanna to become bulimic and she STILL tortures her by making nasty comments about her weight. She thinks she can control who the girls date and told Hanna to "let Caleb go" because he sees her for who she truly is: A BULLY AND A LYING, MANIPULATIVE BITCH.
heidos7 What episode this season did Alison make a comment about Hanna's weight? And Caleb isn't the best person right now. Maybe Alison shouldn't have made the comment come off as a command but Caleb isn't helping Hanna's situation with giving her alcohol when she obviously has a drinking problem and making poor decisions in his life like dropping out of school. Also, he knows she is lying because she IS lying about the kidnapping. He doesn't know that they were in New York , about Shana, etc. While you're right I don't think she apologizes to the girls, but she has told Emily her feelings were real. But in terms to other people, when there is a serial killer on the loose making amends is hard to do when you don't know whose side they're on. Whether it's Mona's team or A's team everyone is a suspect in her eyes except the 4 liars and her father. Her own mother tried to kill her and her brother has been sending her weird vibes so showing weakness to her potential enemy is the last thing she wants to do. Most of the stories that Ali has mostly been fabricating was for Aria's sake because she killed someone and Mona sending that text to her. I agree she hasn't 100% changed (esp. after tonight's episode and maybe next weeks if what the summaries say are true) but with people like Mona, her army, and A on the loose lying is the only way to survive in that town and the last thing she wants is one of three girls (who encouraged her to come back btw) exposing them all.
Galen223adept Like in 5x03 when they were at the funeral home and the guy mistook Hanna for Ali and Ali said something like "It used to be easier to tell us apart, right Hanna?" OBVIOUSLY referring to "Hefty Hanna". It seems to me like Ali may be jealous of her because after she "died" Hanna started looking more and more like her, due to Mona's little make-over, and now Hanna is even thinner than she is (not than Ali is fat at all). Ali can't stand when someone is better or prettier than she is, so she tears others down to make herself feel better. And honestly I think Ali doing it to protect Aria is just a cover up. She did it for herself and to make everyone feel sorry for her. Actions speak louder than words and Ali doesn't seem to have changed like she says she has. She is ALWAYS lying, it's like that's the only thing she knows how to do. Even with the whole Mona situation, she left out the fact that she slapped her back and said those horrible things so it looked even worse than if she had just told them the truth from the start. I don't know if she just can't control it, but one thing she can do is make sure she looks like the victim so the girls will be "oh poor Ali" and doing everything they can to protect her. I agree that Caleb always bringing alcohol to Hanna isn't helping and I wonder if he has a drinking problem himself, but he is messed up himself after everything that happened in Ravenswood and I think he should just tell Hanna the truth because she will probably find out anyway. BUT he loves Hanna and he is trying to look out for her, because he may not know everything that happened in New York and all, but he knows that Ali can NOT be trusted.
heidos7 In reference to Alison's comment about Hanna it wasn't a reference to her weight, at least not entirely. It was more so Alison taking note of how Hanna has changed her appearance to match how Alison was before she disappeared, being more self confident about herself and exhibiting a similar aura Alison used to have. Remember she has been wearing similar clothes to Alison, her entire flashback was about how Mona made her become Alison 2.0. Hanna became upset and confronted Mona near the end of that episode saying she doesn't know who she is anymore and how she blames Mona for changing her to become a new Alison. She states and I quote, "You changed me. You made me dye my hair, you made me her wear her clothes, you made made walk like her, talk like her" because even though Mona hated Alison she still admired her and referring to another one of Hanna's comments "Ali was gone but you wanted her back". Mona even stated that she agrees that she had her get the "Ali upgrade". And that was when Hanna decided to cut her hair and put in black highlights because she didn't want to be an Ali clone. If they hadn't mentioned that I would agree that it was a reference to Hanna's weight but I don't think it was if you look at the context of the entire episode. For Caleb, it was more so that after 2 years of hearing so many things that Alison has put the girls through and that even after she was gone they were still being tortured because of her and Caleb blames her for it. It's hard to have a clear view of someone when all you here are the bad things. I mean it makes sense why would he trust the girl that has a track record of lying and put his gf and her friends through so much pain? Also, Alison did not want to go back, she was persuaded to come back by the girls. She even tried to persuade Hanna into getting her a train ticket to leave town but was stopped by A's threat/attack that if she tried to leave she would die for real. Do you honestly think Ali cares about popularity and being how she used to be now that -A is back, her mother is dead who also tried to kill her (giving her conflicted feelings of how to taken in the situation), and Mona trying to create an army that would make Revenge of the Nerds look like chumps? Being that way was how she ended up in this mess. And why would she make up an obvious lie with so many holes when she could simply tell the truth and why would she come back with the threat of Mona and her mother (before they knew she died)? I mean the truth is more pitiable than the lie imo with far less consequences. Mother tried to kill her, her being on the run for her life and trying to save the girls from the A team, being stalked by a psycho killer, Shana almost trying to kill her but was saved by Aria, etc. Plus Mona's text was a clear threat saying, you blab and it will mean bad things for everyone. She was going to tell the truth because without proper reason she knows the girls would have told if she didn't, but was afraid of the consequences since someone did die and none of the girls have that good of a track record with the police. Has she changed 100% no but I do think she is trying. But I guess we'll have to wait for the upcoming episodes to see.
