You'llnever Findme maybe so but maybe not. nagito tried to raise her to the side of hope, but only managed to get her out of despair. my guess he failed to continue raising her was because he was put into neo world before he could continue raising her. so she was stuck in between, and eventually gave up on trying, and became completely neutral, which is pretty well written if you think about it that way

Unfortunately, just like the background stories of literally anyone are fabricated by Junko or Tsumugi to throw humanity into the path of self destruction. It's pretty clear that she isn't even human to begin with like Junko and is just inheriting her will to get the big experiment continue running smoothly after she was executed. Not to say she was likely actually Junko's right hand unlike Mukuro ( Mukuro is a pawn that Junko just outright sacrificed when she was useless) and has complete loyalty towards her.

I think at first she did, but after she met junko, and began idolizing her, they became like bugs to her. Pathetic, stupid bugs who were easy to squish. Remember: people like her aren't born. They're made. It's canon that she has suicidal thoughts-just read her diary. Her diary reveals that she doesn't-or didn't-hate her family. I don't think she believes the whole demon thing by the way, that was just a way of manipulating the woh. I think her feelings are more complex, almost. Like a tangled knot of apathy. She doesn't care about anyone except junko. Also, I think you don't understand something: suicidal thoughts happen in many different ways. Some people think that they're horrible or selfish for living. Others are just to tired. For monaka, I think she saw it as a out. I also think that she wanted to take the woh with her-if she really just wanted to die, she could just go by herself. No, she wanted to drag people down with her, for them to hurt like she has. She wanted them to die for her, maybe not because she cared about them persay but because she wanted to prove to herself that her life had meaning. I don't know if I'm making sense, but yeah. Monaka is actually a perfect character to have suicidal thoughts, I think. Just in a less "innocent" way than what people think. As someone who has had suicidal thoughts, I can say with certainty, that she could have them. I don't know how to explain it right but... I mean, feelings are complicated. I can see exactly how she could feel. It's more spiteful than what you're thinking I think. I don't know if that makes sense, but I'm tired as fuck right now so. Yeah.

+Buttercup Ghost Thanks for the long reply, but I think I understand what you mean, at least regarding giving her life meaning, It actually does make perfect sense when you think of it that way, because Monaca's whole deal is manipulation, and convincing a bunch of people to kill themselves would of been something akin to a artist's magnum opus, But of course Junko's influence makes her learn that she can do far more than just that, and that's exactly what we see is Despair Girls,

To be fair, she was stuck with *Komaeda* after Junko left and then died.... honestly if I was stuck with HIM (especially knowing that at the time he was technically a remnant or despair!) constantly spouting about the inevitable victory of hope i’d fuck off into space too!

She was never dedicated to despair to begins with. She just adored Junko, and used the whole despair ideology as an excuse and facade to be cruel.

@@NIHIL_EGO honestly that sounds like all of Junko's followers (not including the v3 mastermind, I know who it is but I've got no idea what they'll be like as a mastermind yet.) Mukuro just loves her sister an awful lot, Izuru just wants to see which side is more unpredictable (hope or despair) and the ultimate despairs were just brainwashed. Nobody but her is actually that obsessed with despair.

lh0000 stucked with Komaeda seems not all that bad. I mean, he practically saves her from despairing (plotting destruction and suicide maybe), so we can say he used despair (the rambling) to let hope blossom in the end lol. I read it somewhere that later she came to call him "Big bro". Seems like an adorable relationship, huh!

Yes, it is implied that Monaca wasn't evil by nature the way Junko was. She was mistreated as a child,as the bastard child of the Towa family. Her father mistreated her to the point she suffered an injury so severe that she WAS confined to a weelchair. While she recovered (and hid her recovery in order to retain the simpathy of others), that doesn't mean the abuse never happened. Haiji is also confirmed to have an intense hatred of Monaca not because of her twisted personality, but because he could not control her and because she was smarter than him. It's even implied he might have attempted to sexually abuse her in the past as well. All this mistreatment and abuse turned Monaca into a twisted kid. Once her family started to treat her a little better due to her apparently "losing her ability to walk", she learned she could manipulate her family to turn the situation around. So instead of being abused,she would now be the abuser instead. So, while you are not supposed to excuse Monaca's actions, you have to admit she wasn't a born monster. The Towa family turned her into a monster, just like the rest of the Warriors of Hope. Except she became an even worse monster since she lost any semblance of wanting justice or revenge, instead reveling in the act of manipulating and abusing others. This is also why she didn't want to become the Ultimate Despair herself. Monaca never cared about Despair or Hope in the first place. SHe just liked to manipulate others and see how far she could take them. Turning Komaru into the Ultimate Despair was a game to her. And even if she didn't become the Ultimate Despair and instead just broke down, she would have had her fun. That's honestly why I actually didn'tfound much wrong with how Monaca lost all hermotivation in Danganronpa 3, because that's how Monaca eventually was. She never cared about Hope or Despair so losing any pawns to manipulate and goals to achieve she just stopped caring about anything.

+Mariana Fiore I never read that she was created to be hated, but I definitely knew from the game that she went corrupt after her family neglected her for so long. It kinda makes sense as to why she turned out that way. Like a parent that was horribly treated as a child ending up doing the same to their own child, it's a really sad thing that could happen. Also, I agree on Komaeda. He's definitely an interesting character and deserves that recognition. XD Don't know much about Mikan but she sounds interesting. But I also feel like Chiaki and DEFINITELY Hajime need some bios

The funny part is that the game DOES have a diary that hints that Monaca was lying when she said she wasn't going to kill herself. In the diary she lets it slip that she may actually have wanted to die. It also is very obvious her family treated her with disdain. But she learned to fight right back with the same manipulations and tactics her family used. So it's not that her past isn't as bad as the others. Rather, the difference is that unlike the others, she's acting with full knowledge of how manipulative she's being. She became an abuser, after being abused. And a manipulator,after many years being the one manipulated.

Not to say that she's likely still around there in V3 operating the seemingly independent Monokuma and the kubs, since Junko is actually Tsumugi and judging from both True Culprit and Monaca actually being supernatural in some form or way, she could just respawn along with whatever thing Junko becomes. You can say that Junko is actually Nyarlathotep and can transform into anyone at will, but Monaca can't. She only needs to change her name and hide her involvement in the experiment, since if the viewers see Monaca's name on the staff credits they will instantly know what is going on. Note that True Culprit in V3 (Or possibly all other Danganronpa installments past the the Hope's Peak Saga) acts independently from Monokuma, and Monokuma isn't supposed to have a will on its own. In other words, none other than Monaca can be controlling the units while cooperating with True Culprit, since all true culprits from Junko to Tsumugi is just the same malevolent god trying to experiment humanity into destroying itself. Also you could bet that she created K1B0 as a camera and a messenger to further distort the minds of people, but somehow the robot became humanity's friend instead of the malevolent god's friend.

cuz Junko can pull all kinds of nasty shit and still sound and behave like a queen, monaca though is just a little piece of shit. Aside from her backstory there is very little to like about her.
